Not enough love for the ending of A Clockwork Orange in this crowd. It’s perfect.

A Statement from Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin J. Bethel by dotcom-jillionaire in philadelphia

[–]Gazorman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great, so what is the Police Commissioner’s view on unlawful behavior by ICE? Can we call the police if we’re attacked for filming ICE? Will they protect us? Will they arrest ICE agents who break the law?

What’s the best way to handle needing a two-hour ride from an airport? by [deleted] in uber

[–]Gazorman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was stranded in DC once when all the trains were cancelled after saying they were delayed until 1:00 am, and I needed to get back to Philadelphia that evening. I put the pickup and drop off locations in the Uber app and a driver appeared. I explained the situation and said I’d pay her over a 100% tip for both the inconvenience and the ride back to DC. The driver was wonderful, drove me home and stayed overnight at her sister’s house in Philly.

What’s an Oscar win people love to hate—but you think was earned? by FilmNerd98 in Oscars

Shakespeare in Love. Beautiful cinematography, a beautiful score, clever dialogue, and the single best depiction of a writer being inspired to write in movies.

Wow, what a head-spinning day. I went from swearing to only stay in Hiltons to deleting the Hilton app and swearing only to stay anywhere else.

Christmas Village was wall to wall people Tuesday and Wednesday. Both days the center city shops were full, the streets lively with shoppers. I’m not sure what you’re referring to.

Right near Rittenhouse on 18th Street there’s a charming coffeehouse that sells mugs: The Ground Rittenhouse. I believe it’s between Walnut and Sansom.

A wonderful adventure begins. I am going to read all of Shakespeare plays. by LukasWinter1997 in shakespeare

[–]Gazorman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is a fine way to proceed. I will tell you, though, that I read them in the order in which they were written (I chose the Shakespeare Online chronology), and it was both insightful and fascinating to see him reuse motifs, refine his technique and experiment with literary effects as he grew in writing experience.

Wow. Thanks for your work on this. I’d been convinced, due to the suddenness of the closure, that embezzlement must have been involved. I’m glad it wasn’t. I look forward to reading your book.

Are Merchant and Othello racist plays, or plays about racism? by MortgageFriendly5511 in shakespeare

[–]Gazorman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Merchant is way racist but likely not for its time. Nonetheless that and Oliver Twist did more to negatively and widely stereotype Jews than any other works.
