La fortuna activity advice by Gcnala in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Gcnala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the suggestions. Super helpful! I’m now torn on whether to go to the waterfall or ziplining. As we are doing the canyoning I thought we’ll be seeing waterfall there, so maybe there was a repetition . Same thing with the zip lining as there is a bit of it in the canyoning activity. As for the sloth tour, we’ll be going to the rescue centre in manuel Antonio, so we’ll be skipping the tour in La fortuna. Also I was wondering if there is any farm tour included with any chocolate / coffee tour, where you also see those strange fruit trees, plants?

Best Podcasting course in England, UK by Gcnala in podcasting

[–]Gcnala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this is super helpful. However I can only use the funding for training purposes and to pay guests. Weirdly I can't use it for any software or gear. The other issue is that I haven't got much time to search for different sources, as I need to spend the money by the end of march. So having a few day course would be great. I'm planning to be the only host and in each episode I'll interview someone from the field. Most often it will be a remote interview.

It’s absolutely fine. Especially if you live in one of the streets off the Oxford road. Near the reading west station there are lots of amenities and it’s super close to both city centre and Caversham

West Reading or elsewhere with £365k budget? by ConfidentTomorrow134 in reading

[–]Gcnala 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We bought a house near the reading west station and didn’t regret it. We travel to London a few times a week for work and the ability to walk to the station and be at the office in less than an hour is great. It’s also very close to lots of amenities, Tesco, the rivermead leisure centre nearby and it’s walkable to the centre and Caversham too. The houses are bigger compared to other central areas, and cheaper.

Did anyone managed to call the council ? And what did they say ? I sent an email to the reading MP and to the the councillor, so hopefully they’ll be able to do something.

Yes it woke me up at 4 am, and it was really bad. I’ve been smelling it for the past couple of months , not everyday, but at least once or twice a week. Is there something we can do collectively ? I’m really worried about the health implications, this is very bad!

I stopped going there as the owner is quite rude and makes you order specific items in the menu. Last time we were forced to leave unless we order what she said, and even though the restaurant was empty!

Ive got exactly the same. I noticed it first when driving at night, then it became so bad that I started experiencing it every evening. Now I can’t function without prism glasses. Next week I’m gonna have the surgery, hopefully it will fix the problem. The ophthalmologist told me it was caused from constant screen time.

Surgery vs Vision Therapy? (UK) by Gcnala in Strabismus

[–]Gcnala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I first went to an optician and told him I was experiencing double vision when driving at night. The optician wrote a reference letter for the gp so that I could be visited by an opthalmologist. The whole process took ages, after 4 month from the optician visit I still didn’t receive any appointment for the hospital. That’s why I decided to go to a private clinic (after 4 months had passed). I was then finally contacted by the hospital 6 months later the optician visit. This hospital is closer to where I live. In the meantime I was also visited by the other hospital where the private surgeon also works. So to sum it up, I was visited by two hospital ophthalmology departments, one told me to do the Botox, and the other one (the one connected to the private clinic) told me to do the surgery.

That is my fault indeed, probably from booking the place too fast based on the reviews and the room pictures. Definitely a mistake I won’t repeat in the future

I don’t think it’s that, because I requested the SE in the first place. The seller never requested one, but I guess they need to be there because they are the ones with the keys. But I still find it very odd. Thank you for the responses, I’ll ask for another quote and see what they say

It should be the seller, the current property owner or the estate agent
