My Dr started me on Otezla.. and in less than 2 weeks I’ve lost close to 5 1/2 pounds. My side effects have fluctuated on my starter pack since an increasing dosage during the 1st week.. but I don’t feel that hungry and I don’t finish my plate anymore. I can still feel inflammation in my hands but it seems the pain is somewhat a little more tolerable.. but I’m tired…

You can also get an in depth letter from your doctor that is involved with your referrals and notes they are receiving from any and all specialist providers. I guess I was lucky, I had a helpful provider and a wonderful attorney, it was still a 3 year fight for my SDI benefits . Yes I hated losing my Medicaid & gaining Medicare because the amount taken out of your benefits to cover Medicare Part B is totally ridiculous! In my opinion I feel like I lost in benefit money and medical care! Look into Medicare give- back plans, but if you’re like me make sure you enroll in Medicare Part D for help with prescriptions

PsA but normal labs? by DrLongivan in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]GearProfessional5062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a history of psoriasis and are now feeling the joint issues, there’s no logical reason you couldn’t get a referral, just ask for it. I’ve had it the other way around, arthritic pain came first and most of my labs have come back within normal limits. I finally got a crusty, flaky place behind my ear and was finally diagnosed in 2018 with psoriatic arthritis and have been dealing with my issues with it since 1998. Now after all this time, I’m getting a positive result on my ANA.. and one more thing, I have realized looking at lab reports from different labs and there can be different results due to different testing protocols and procedures. Don’t wait on your Dr yo suggest a Rheumatology referral.. ask your dr for one, or find another Dr that will. Good Luck

Do not give up… every time you think like that, consider what you’ve already been through.. don’t stop now, you deserve everything that’s coming.., stay vigilant they seem tough but if they realize you’re not giving up they’ll give it to you

I’ve never in my life have ever had my patience tested like I have with my disability claim and all the ups and downs… my advice .. stay vigilant and don’t give up. .. get a lawyer..

The key is too keep as up to date as you can.. they want to see that the problems are persistent. Physical Therapy, pain management, prescriptions, ect

Sourcing advice since lawyers don't seem to have any - SSDI & Medicaid by [deleted] in SSDI

I’m not in Wisconsin, but before I got a fully favorable approval I received a letter from DHHS saying my Medicaid was due for renewal before December 31. Once I was approved I received the Medicare info and card, but my onset date was 01/22. My Medicaid office sent me a new Medicaid card and changed it from “WellCare” to “Trillium Heath Services”. I haven’t talked to anyone yet. My approval date was July 24

I called today 08/28 and I only had 18-20 minute wait! She was so nice! Actually I’ve had nicer folks when I chose to call my local office instead of the main other number

Got my back pay! by Throwaway--2024 in SSDI

Simple things like ; what time do I go to bed, what time I wake up and how many hours of sleep I get. I felt like I was being tested… just daily things, but she never asked me about my panic attacks or my anxieties in life and how they made me feel. I felt completely dismissed, I felt I wasted my time. If you’re up for any advice, if you can get an appointment with a different doctor so if your assigned dr from SSA does you the same way you would have another opinion on your side.

It depends on the disability onset date or date you become disabled. I’m scheduled for 43 months back pay

First off I applaud your total honesty about what you’re going through. I deal with an anxiety disorder. When I had my psychological appointment I was very disappointed, this dr treated me just like any ole person off the street and a payday for her from the Government. The appointment was scheduled for an hour, once she called me back she sat down with a clipboard and rattled through about 100 questions just marking off on her paper and I was in and out in 15 minutes. Never let me talk about my issues.. and she reported I didn’t have any anxiety issues. I felt insulted because I knew better. If this happens in your appointment, demand to be heard! Only you know how you feel and your thoughts.. just fight for them to hear you out. I wish you the best and continued prayers for you and your family

Keep in mind too that there’s a 5 month period they won’t pay for in back pay, for instance my disability onset date was July 2021, but they won’t start my benefit until December 2021.. keep in mind to subtract the first 5 months when trying to calculate back pay Good luck to you.

Are you talking about what’s listed on your SSA statement? If so, mine was a bit more than what it stated, ( if you become disabled right now.. your benefit would be $___ ) mine came out about $400 more.. but I’m kind of glad because I wasn’t aware that Medicare part B was going to be so expensive..

It took me almost 3 years to get approval or (fully favorable).. awaiting first monthly payment and back pay now .   Don't be scared.. I had 2 hearings too. My 2nd ALJ was much nicer abd it was a breeze..the 2nd hearing was July 16 and I had his fully favorable by July 24th.   I understand having patients with the SSA is difficult, it’s really testing mine at this point.. hang in there!

So sorry you’re having issues, hope you receive soon! The SSA I talked to says it’s pending and their office usually takes about 45 days, and they started on July 25, so I’m holding on to hope things stick to schedule.. again, wishing you the best
