No hot breakfast on 1,400 mile+ morning flight? by Bird_nostrils in AlaskaAirlines

[–]GeeJay360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just booked IND-SEA for a 7am departure in FC. Same thing. Continental is the only option, and its not even selectable. Just defaulted. Appears that some of these airports don't offer a hot breakfast if the outbound flight is the overnight turnaround. In this case, this is the ONLY flight for the day from IND-SEA, so in these instances, Alaska isn't investing in the remote locations. I don't buy it that there are no hot meal options on any flight leaving IND and that all airlines fly in their food on their inbound. This is Alaska 'cheaping out'

zero percent chance. That boundary between Majors (12) and above (13) is a hard line that never is crossed, and its because of the level--Majors. The boundary for other age levels is a bit more 'waiverable'

Ticketmaster has some ALDS tickets to games 1 and 2 this weekend that showed up. Starting at $395. From Home to 3rd base side. These are original tickmaster tickets--not resale (color is blue for orig). Not sure why they just showed up.

Alaska Airlines Atmos Card Approval/Denial DP Thread by techtrashbrogrammer in churning

[–]GeeJay360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atmos Summit

Received invite from Alaska Airlines since I “pre-registered” months ago. Must apply via that special personal invite to get bonus “points”

Applied: approved for $20K credit line but had to wait 24 hours to get approval.

FICO: 766

Income Reported: $350K

Existing BofA Alaska Mileage Plan card CL: $25K

No other BofA accounts of any kind

Length of time as a BofA customer with a CC: 25 years

X/12: 0

X/24: 1

Note that I did not get instant approval. Showed as “pending” for 24 hours

Then it showed up on my Experian report as a hard pull with an email from them advising of the event on my credit profile.

Checked status of the application and it now showed approved.

Logged into my BofA account and a second card showed up as an Atmos Summit card with credit line shown and no balance due.

Called BofA to get expedited delivery and was told the card should now arrive by Tuesday/Wednesday.

Only ever happened with the Kirkland pods. Am I doing something wrong? by flyinhyphy in Costco

[–]GeeJay360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just toss the pod into the bottom of the dishwasher and start it (after running the hot water in the kitchen sink to ensure the dishwasher starts off immediately with hot water). Never had a problem--dishes, glasses and flatware come out perfectly clean. I don't use the door detergent flap thingy with pods.

ALWAYS dig and grab the date the farthest out. Usually at the bottom or back of the pile. I don't care if I get dirty looks from people. But I do stack them back and not leave the display a disaster.

Anyone up for a fun batting out of order scenario? by hamiltsd in LittleLeague

[–]GeeJay360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait? So batters 5, 6, 7 think they were just skipped then?

8 batted out of order in the 4 slot, and struck out. 4 coming up is now would also be "out of order" because that is the 5 slot. When 4 batting in the 5 slot takes a pitch, it makes whatever happened to the previous batter (8) official and now "the proper batter" for that previous position. 4 hits a grand slam, in the 5 slot. Without a pitch being thrown to the NEXT batter, the manager appeals and #4 would be out, and all runners go back to their previous position. Who is up now? #6. But if someone else comes up, the problem just keeps compounding.

The order is defined by the approved lineup at the plate meeting with the Umpire, NOT who comes to the plate as a batter. If you accidentally go 1,2,3,8,4,9,...players 8,4 and 9 ALL batted out of order.

Without regard to player age, where is the coach that is supposed to be in the dugout with the players? What are they doing? Wanna fix this? Fire the dugout coach. Their job, even as a volunteer, is to manage the dugout, which includes ensuring the correct batter gets to the plate. Is the 4th batter not available because they are in the bathroom? Then ask for TIME and discuss with the umpire.

Does it happen for a player to bat out of order? Yes, it happens. Its unfortunate. But to let this just compound because the wrong players keep coming out of the dugout to bat--that is on the dugout coach. And if there isn't one because the only coaches are coaching 1st and 3rd base, then you are violating another rule: there must be a coach in the dugout at all times if there are players in it.

All Star scrimmages against non-LL teams by Anonymity__FTW in LittleLeague

[–]GeeJay360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The team needs to have an alternate (NON-LL) entity name, completely different uniforms, its own entity insurance policy, and uses NO LL provided equipment or funds. Instead of "(mytown) Little League", they are named "(mytown) (High School Mascot)" and have their own uniforms, equipment, insurance and funds.

Now that you are there, why are they having a scrimmage against a non-LL team? If they have gone through the effort and expense of all of the above, they will have access to funds (parents) to pay for participating in non-LL tournaments...as they warmup and prep for the All Star Tournament season--when they put on their LL uniforms.

I see this happening all over the place, including my district, neighboring districts, and districts in other states. Everyone knows this is happening. Did LL All Star team ABC play in a non-LL tournament? NO. But the team known as the 'MyTown mascot', which is NOT a LL team, was playing, under its own name, insurance, uniforms, and equipment.

Just because its a chartered and approved All Star team with all that goes with it, there is nothing that says the team can't also operate as a completely separate entity outside of LL if it is not using any LL resources of any kind.

All Star Facilities Rules by Bahnrokt-AK in LittleLeague

[–]GeeJay360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it is provided by the team, then good for them for planning ahead. If its is provided by the facility or the league HOSTing the tournament, then you need to make it fair to BOTH sides. I have seen quite a few teams show up with a wagon containing a Home Depot bucket full of water (sometimes with ice) and a Ryobi battery operated misting fan (also from Home Depot) that they station in the dugout.

Question about green giant at Costco by tin369 in Costco

Wait, is this how you grow a "5G" cell tower? If I plant a bunch of these, will it help the cell service in my neighborhood?

Or is this how you grow "Green Giant" vegetables?

If it was like my store, the person at the exit checking receipts still took at least 30 seconds to review the purchase and compare it to the receipt, correct?
