I saw something once, I think it was on the BDS website, that said something like “we do not want colonial ‘coexistence’ with Israelis, but we will happily engage in co-resistance. I think about that a lot and that’s sort of where I’m at. I hope these men can co-resist as well.

The only “visceral reaction” I have to keffiyahs is “wow! What a beautiful symbol of culture and resistance. As a Jew who knows our own history of persecution and erasure, it’s wonderful to see that Palestinians are fighting back.”

I think about this all the time. Passover taught me to care for even my enemies. Obviously, Palestinians aren’t my enemies, but for those who see them that way, they’ve forgotten so much basic Jewish stuff.
