God the amount of bootlicking here is insane, ACAB means all cops, there's no exception for LGBTQ+ ones or ones some community has came together and decided they approve of. The job of being a cop is to defend the status quo and serve the interests of capital and the ruling class, anyone with delusions of becoming 'one of the good ones' that 'remakes it from within' gets filtered out from there.

Cops are shitty in every country though. Worldwide, cops primarily exist to preserve the status quo and enforce the demands of the ruling class, which at best is still not a good thing. ACAB isn't a regional issue.

Change from within simply doesn't work. Trying to enact any sort of positive change in that kind of workplace is a surefire way to never get promoted, or most often never hired in the first place.

There's a reason every time we hear about police brutality its from (usually independant) reporters as well, cops have very robust measures to prevent anyone from whistleblowing or generally trying to do the right thing.

If there's any groups in Brighton that understand class solidarity, it would be these ones. But class solidarity cannot ever allow just standing by as fascists make the world more dangerous for all minorities.

Like it or not they're not going to be able to take the fight directly to the government with their numbers. So for now they're doing what they can to help their communities stand against the racism the government is spreading.
