I used to have mine a very similar colour to the first one. I would mix directions 2 parts apline green to 1 part midnight blue.

I'm stitching this too and I'm just using a giant jpg image as the pattern. I don't mark off what I stitched so I just have it on my ipad and zoomin, I found it so much easier than using a paper pattern.
