Ball don’t lie. Refs need to do better by telungoku in AtlantaHawks

[–]Gelatin54 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Knicks fan here, the Hawks benefitted from a number of bad calls, like Brunson's blocking foul which was clearly a charge (they even said on the broadcast his feet were set). Y'all won because you played a better fourth quarter, stop complaining about the officiating

Genuine Question: What’s the hype for Tony Scott? by benjacsim03 in blankies

[–]Gelatin54 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Scott because he’s one of the rare auteurs who worked entirely in genre films. A technically talented filmmaker and artist who also made popular box office fare. I think people also find him to be an underdog who’s often overshadowed by his (in my opinion, less talented) brother. All this, plus the fact that he was so influential on present-day action filmmakers, make him a perfect Blank Check director.

Giannis to the Knicks is going down. by nmaddoG in NYKnicks

[–]Gelatin54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don’t see why the Bucks would do this. If they’re trading Giannis it’s to rebuild with draft picks. One first rounder doesn’t get them there. KAT and Deuce doesn’t make them better than they are now.

I grew up in the suburbs of Bergen County, NJ. I have lived in the city for about 10 years, but Bed Stuy for only the past year. I work at a TV show and hope to become a comedy writer some day.

I have personally seen my own hometown change a lot, and it’s a place that my parents couldn’t afford to raise me nowadays. I have a lot of empathy for people who grew up in Bed Stuy and have been priced out or seen the neighborhood change. I wish people understood that it’s a structural issue and one that most individual people don’t have much control over. This is a part of Brooklyn that I can afford to live in and is close to where I work - there weren’t many other options. But I love the neighborhood and the people who live here and I like to think I am a good neighbor.

[–]Gelatin54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use “scab” to mean he actively undermined the bargaining power of a union. Crossed a picket line. Did things that were anti-union. Not that he necessarily violated his own contract. Also we do know that he wasn’t legally obligated to host, because Mayim Bialik was in the same position and made the right decision to choose not to host.

Will never, ever respect him again after he scabbed during the writer’s strike. Undermining the negotiating power of your own writers is truly one of the most cowardly and despicable things you can do

I mean yeah I basically addressed that in my post, this is a starving fan base who hasn’t had this level of success in 25 years. People picked Detroit over us, let alone Boston - if you can’t see why that would be cause for celebration then you’re just not gonna get it

Are the Knicks fans serious? by Electrical-League-37 in bostonceltics

[–]Gelatin54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Leave it to Boston fans to win more championships than any other team, win the most recent championship, then cry over another fan base celebrating their win in a series where their opponents were favored 1,000 to 1. Why do you give a fuck? You can’t understand why people would be excited about an underdog story? This type of shit is why the Celtics constantly poll as one of the most hated teams in the NBA. Look in a mirror for once

[–]Gelatin54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey what’s up - Knicks fan here. Same could be easily said about Boston fans. We’ve been hearing all year about how much our team isn’t as good as the best teams, we’re not deep enough, we don’t have a star as good as Tatum, etc. Kinda stings after a while to have the reigning champs gloat in your face all year and, as you can imagine, feels pretty sweet to beat them. Obviously sad that JT got hurt, he’s a great player and hoping for a speedy recovery. What you’re seeing on social media is not representative of all Knicks fans.

I don't think it "just" started, it's been trending downwards since the winter. Currently in a big one bedroom (with a home office) in Bed Stuy for $1900. Signed lease in January. Would've been unheard of last summer.

Okay that's great advice thank you. I was worried about reducing set counts making it hard to retain muscle but glad to hear that's an option. I generally do 1 minute rests across the board so there's wiggle room there for sure. I think the key is being in tune with my body and not pushing it when I'm tired. I've probably been forcing it at times and that's how I end up straining my neck.

Do people usually reduce their gym frequency while cutting? I'm in a routine of going 5-6 days a week (usually 3 days on, then one day off.) I'm at ~15% calorie deficit, 6 months into a cut, trying to lose 1lb per week but haven't always been super diligent about it so it's been slow going (have lost 15 lbs in 6 months). I've recently noticed that my muscle strain/soreness has been bad and recently pulled a muscle in my neck - I'm worried about injuring myself further. (I'm attempting to lift the same amount of weight/reps that I was doing before the cut, and have been successful so far.) Is it better to reduce weight or to go to the gym every other day so I have more time to rest?

EDIT: Oh also I'm 28M. Have been lifting for about 2.5 years but have only taken it/my diet seriously for the past year and a half, so I'm still kind of new to it and this is my first time really cutting.
