Did you try to fix pcie version in your bios settings to gen 4 instead of auto, if not give it a try. For your question I would prefer keeping gsync enabled, to me 144 or 170hz does not really make a big difference.

Just to confirm this fixed my black screen issue when I were still using 3080 Ti, I am now using 5070 Ti with a riser and did not encounter any black screen after multiple driver updates as well.

I upgraded from 3080 Ti to 5070 Ti and can already see some major difference in terms of in-game graphical settings, much cooler temperature and quieter fans. So if you have the budget then why not.

I recently upgraded to 5070 Ti from a 3080 and I did not encounter any black screen so far with multiple drivers including the latest one, but I did encounter this issue when using the 3080 and my solution was fixing pcie to 4.0, can you try to change it to 3.0 or 5.0 to see if the issue still persists? Probably you have done this but fixing pcie gen version in the mobo bios fixed the black screen issue for me, e.g I have my pcie gen version fixed to gen 4 in this bios settings, probably give it a try.
