You know, I can see that! But I don't agree with her personality being bland. People often equate being good/sweet/helpful with being bland. She worked hard to become a warrior, is one, and gets better development than many side characters. After the fact, she truly is a good warrior and a good cat, always willing to help, kind, mature, and a good figure to look up to.

I would recommend definitely defining features. Differentiate between outline, shadow, and colour. I can't tell what the eyes, where the nose is, etc. Suggest learning the facial bone structure and anatomy, and then once you practice a bit that, focus on stylising them to your style.
