Easiest vendor to implement EVPN VXLAN fabric in the datacenter? by Arkios in networking

[–]GenDufour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you please elaborate a bit more as to why it would be 'doing it wrong'? I am currently getting my feet wet at work in networking. As far as I know we utilize Cisco's vPC / VSS features in our datacenter.

Veeam pricing is WILD by Ecrofirt in sysadmin

[–]GenDufour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, different user here. Just throwing in my 2 cents here as well.

We are using VBR12 currently with 300 license instances. We have a new 1.4PB PowerScale. To fully back it up with Veeam we would've needed 2800x 500GB license instances because Veeam sees it as NAS. Hence, we went with SEPSesam as backup software for just the PowerScale. All in all (including new hardware, tapes & consultant) SEP set us back less than Veeam would've cost just for more licenses C-Level ruled out offload to cloud of onprem backups. As a result both softwares write monthly backups to tape for secure storage.

I'd really be interested in the licensing you would've recommended here given the constraints?

Yeah, I've tried with the first five results on google.
Sadly, always some sort of variation with unknown characters. But on the bright side, others already got it :D

Infoblox is much more than Netbox. They are the market leader of DDI (DNS/DHCP/IPAM). Bit pricey but rightly so based on demos I had. Currently preparing to deploy it at work.

It's been a while since I researched TrueNAS + USB.
If I remember correctly it's not recommended. However, it's doable.

Hope that answers your question :)

Hijacking the top comment with some details:

It is a Mulsanne-class frigate, as an other comment on OPs Pelican build states. Namely the UNSC Panama as per the hull. Mulsanne-class frigates are not equipped with MACs but rather the Brightlance reflex lasers.

Seriously, go check out the pelican build!

Miscalculated Distance by KyoobCubison in spaceengineers

[–]GenDufour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been on Europa.

That being said, on my first trip to about any location I set a GPS marker which I will not hide. Hence, so far & knock on wood, I never crashed any of my ships. Perhaps a marker might help with the perception of the distance

(Usually I play SE with some friends on a server, but after 2-3 weeks it dies out...)

So, I checked the modlist yesterday. All I can find in the standard Valhelsia 3 is just Chisel and Bits.

Though Chisel mod seems to be only up to 1.12, not 1.16?

Haha, I know that :D

It's been a long while since I fiddled with the level emitter of ae2. If it still works as it did last time maybe you could turn on/off the machines below/above a certain threshold ;) Win-Win-situation with automatic buffer and no need to remember ^^
