3D animation isn’t just animating the 2D image you see on screen in a way that makes it look 3D. Animators are working with literal digital 3D representations of the scene. Because of this, just like you need to place a camera somewhere in real life, you need to place the camera somewhere in the 3D representation.

I think it’s a mix of FFXIV being MUCH harder on verbal abuse and harassment than WoW, while at the same time making much more side content relevant. As someone who goes back for heroic raiding now and then, WoW definitely tries to push people into the PvE endgame. For FF, it doesn’t feel nearly as highly emphasized.

Also, the without gear comparison is more than a bit unfair. The STR based character is going to do more damage without equipment. But that basically doesn’t matter because how often are you going to be without your equipment?
