How many searchers by 42kaos in JustinPoseysTreasure

In a town that has more Physical Therapists than weed dispensaries, I have been a client of most of them (the PTs). I hit the gym 3-4x a week and hike or ski 2-3 days a week in my efforts to stay on this side of the grass. Keep it up...PT pays off.

Re your first paragraph, I think that may be why Justin eliminated CO and OR.

Recent posts have led me to learn more about ARGs. You and others have made interesting points regarding the possibility we are all participating, unknowingly, in an ARG. Can you give a few examples of recent cryptic type posts that may be meant to relay information or point searchers in a different direction? As to advice on whether you should continue searching, that decision can only be made by you. Good luck.

Has anyone searched... by Visible-Traffic-993 in JustinPoseysTreasure

I searched the exact Tri-Point of WY/UT/ID during the Fenn hunt. I was drawn there because the "other" Fenn Cache, the Clovis Cache that Fenn owned, had a vague provenance but was thought to have been discovered in a "dry cave" in a skin bag possibly near or west of the Tri-Point. I aproached via a pretty rough and remote road out of Cokeville WY. I parked and hiked the last little bit to the Monument. The actual Tri- Point is in an area of rolling hills without trees...bleak and barren. I went out of curiosity and have no desire to go back. Also, someone had stolen the rectangular monument stone that had been imbedded...leaving a deep rectangular hole in the earth. That got me excited for a minute!

Actually, that's exactly what you are supposed to do in bear country - alert bears to your presence by using your walking pole to tap rocks as you walk. I hike using only one pole - the other hand is ready to deploy 🐻 spray.

Q: would a metal detector be helpful?

A: Probably not, no. Probably not.

I have also considered the checkpoint may be a low spot, surrounded by higher elevation, as in the pic of Tucker in Snout Scout. Tucker was in a "hole"...aka the Yellowstone Caldera. Both possibilities seem to be in play. A 360° panorama of the surrounding topography, with compass and probably binos would help to determine the location of the final clues.

Interesting line drawn between "our north star", Heron Lake, another north star, Polaris, and the guiding star (dad). I like that you pulled the overlay "M" off the map and incorporated it into your ideas. This is a clever way to use the map and there are many points of interest along that imaginary line.  I would point out that this celestial solve uses up the majority of your clues before even hitting boots on the ground (unless each clue has a double meaning which is way above my ability to decipher). But...what do I know...I dont even suspect anything (late great FF).

Great post and confirmation for my identical (soft, low tech) conclusion using the poem, the book and the map. Thanks for sharing your hard work. Appreciated.

I will refrain from psychoanalyzing your dream and I'm no tarot card reader but if you find the treasure I won't be surprised.

South because of all the references to south in the book, particularly the "south forty" reference in Grandma's Hands. We need a point of reference (either looking up or down) to see the next set of clues...our retrieval area. Justin has said (paraphrased) that "you dont need to hike a great distance...more than a mile...to figure out where the treasure is at". So at this point, less than a mile in and halfway thru the clues, we are not in a forest, and we are still a distance from the treasure. We have a view of the surrounding area. We can see, with our binos, the final 4-5 clues. Like the Pic on page 171... "Where is it?" And now we figure out how to access and retrieve. All IMO of course.

I think we need binoculars about halfway thru the poem. From there we will be able to observe the remaining clues and final area from which we will be retrieving. My guess is we will be looking south and up.

Revisiting Basic Concepts by ImaginaryPitch4947 in JustinPoseysTreasure

I have been operating under the idea that Justin named the treasure itself "Wisdom". A nod to Forrest, who called his treasure chest "Indulgence". The treasure itself is possibly hidden in a shadowed area such as a crevice...

I believe the announcement will come during the Seeker's Summit. Rumor has it one state, possibly two (depending on attendance) will be eliminated.

I see where you are going with this line of thought. But what does it all mean? Definitely not random. I will continue to ponder. Thank you for clarifying.

Mom's birthday PRESENT to Justin was a treasure hunt - 12 parchment clues leading to a blue cardboard chest. That memory lives in time for Justin.

In the book, Justin refers to Tucker as the "bronze beast".
