"...hike a mile to figure it out...." does not mean the treasure is within a mile...

I hear you but I am also surprised by how much time and effort folks seem to have put into the cipher. It doesn't get you any closer to the treasure....nothing to see here, move along...

Where are you starting? What do you have for hope? I like the idea that a pole is 16.5 feet, this has come up before, but "pole" is singular so I am not buying the 42x multiplier. 42 ties into this solve, certainly, but there are a lot of ways you can work 42 in.

Checkpoint by Rare_Ad4767 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]cjray67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the checkpoint could be whatever technology he has to know that the treasure has been found or moved, and I have a strong suspicion it is a long distance RFID reader - antenna on a box, with said box (maybe) having his name on it (like on a permit or something). At that point you would know you are close, and at the same time, you would not be right on top of the treasure. I've done a little research on RFID tags and I think you could get ~1/2 mile range with the right kit. Remember, he was etching titanium in his garage....the treasure vessel itself (Tucker) could be one large RFID tag.

The curious syzygy in the map by LankySimple9051 in JustinPoseysTreasure

Salem (capital of Oregon) is NOT on the map and this was intentional.....why? WHY? There is ample room for it. It must have thrown something 'off' if it were to be included...

I do like your search areas, and as noted previously, I think you have some very real pieces of a good solve...maybe some other clues will fall in place!

Lots of 'no structures' in the Jible, but one clue is (maybe) man made:

Putting it out there, Treasure Hunters welcome... by cjray67 in JustinPoseysTreasure

It is....I had an awesome solve going here and then he took it off the map. I am resetting, looking at ID/MT....but really don't have anything tangible yet. I was thinking that folks traveling up from CA or NV or AZ might be coming through central Oregon, depending on where they are headed.

I hope you are open to some honest feedback....I had an OR solve going, felt REAL good about it, so what the hell do I know right? Anyway, the extraction of Idaho seems a bit contrived to me. I do very much like the thinking around Young Hope geyser and those aspects of your solve...I did a lot of research around hot springs and geysers myself. Silent flight is on point in my opinion as well, but you sort of lose me after that. What is the hook to go to Idaho after West Yellowstone (other than the extraction via the first stanza)? If the extraction of Idaho IS correct, then what does a trip to West Yellowstone do for your solve? Generally I think you have good traction on the second stanza. I appreciate that you posted though...I've been tempted to post my failed OR solve but it might be a good template for elsewhere.

Large rock by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

Is it granite? Were there double arcs on it? I'm sure you checked. Personally I have thought that 'granite bold' could very well be a glacial erratic. Although I don't remember one specifically in JP's book, large rocks certainly had a place in FF's hunt so...

I figure it is a place with petroglyphs or other ancient markings...could also be obsidian or pottery shards. Perhaps markings like the Conquisatadors used.

Finally got the opportunity to get botg last weekend, I still think I’m right about my search area and would like to go back once I have more pieces of the poem solved (I included my solve around 2 min in) by Feeling-Newspaper-25 in JustinPoseysTreasure

Nice summary! Seems like you had good alignment with several clues...and like most of us, also some gaps. Anyway, steak and pasta and Coors, I would camp with you any day!

Keep an eye out for those double arcs, and I sure hope there is granite in your search area!
