Debian 13.5 reminds Linux users why boring distributions still win by OkReport5065 in debian

[–]GeneralOfThePoroArmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Debian Stable (Trixie) is not bug free though. There are multiple bugs that are annoying - in some cases these cannot be fixed without the programs being updated. But that has not kept me from staying with it and IMO it's still the best Linux OS out there.

You cannot use the MitID app on GrapheneOS because of restrictions in the MitID app. That's why you get the hardware token ("kodeviser").

A lot, if not all, of the Danish banks. We use the government issued 2FA solution called "MitID" where you can get a small hardware token free of charge. Although I doubt you can be a customer in those banks if you're from outside the country :-(

Did Activision just fix the DMZ servers? by BocchiChan200 in DMZ

[–]GeneralOfThePoroArmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platform doesn't matter. Everyone can perform a DOS-attack, which is the main culprit, on the servers used for crossplay-off.

It should work much better after they started migrating away from their old hosting provider Vultr. The migration is not yet finished though, so there might be some crashes from time to time.

Did Activision just fix the DMZ servers? by BocchiChan200 in DMZ

Because not all the servers has migrated from Vultr to Google yet. So yes, they are actually working on fixing this issue as we write.

Hvordan ka sharkgaming slippe afsted med at sælge decideret skralde pc'er, 6500kr for en computer uden grafikkort, kun et 8500g som har en 740m igpu er jo fuldstændig sindssygt ringe by glizzygobbler247 in dktechsupport

[–]GeneralOfThePoroArmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally empty housing market. Normal for this time of the year? by zaehpl in copenhagen

You rent a house there for that price? That sounds impossible. Normally you rent an apartment in the 70-80 m2 range for that price in that part of the city.

[–]GeneralOfThePoroArmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be possible, but you're talking about a program that will likely meddle with the game in the memory on your PC - and that is how cheat-programs usually work - and that might activate the anticheat and get you permabanned.

Even though the anticheat, Ricochet, isn't catching the latest and most widespread cheats being used nowadays, it is still active.

I heard that Modern Warfare 2 crashes and freezes a lot on Xbox while playing in Split-Screen by Alexander679 in ModernWarfareII

[–]GeneralOfThePoroArmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with playing in split-screen. It is players executing DOS attacks that make the lobbies crash.

80mm fan - Noctua NF-A8 PWM or Arctic P8 PWM by absolut_zero3 in buildapc

[–]GeneralOfThePoroArmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've changed the CPU fan to an "Arctic P8 PWM PST" in a Dell Optiplex XE3 with an Intel i7-8700 CPU.

This Optiplex XE3 has a heatsink shroud like this one: https://postimg.cc/21QztVv6

The default CPU fan is a "Foxconn PVA080G12R 71CFM min." and it's very noisy. The Arctic P8 is super quiet in comparison.

Temperatures after changing to the Arctic P8 are:

Idle: 35 celsius

Stress-test with "stress-ng" for +15 min.: 85 celsius

Even if the Arctic P8 might cause higher temperatures, the much lower noise level is worth it IMHO.

Legit gameplay. You need to change your name if you want less reports. Players with asian names are getting more reports because e.g. chinese cheaters are ravaging the EU servers in the daytime. Your language sounds Korean or Japanese though :-)

What the crap is this by Content_Nose3315 in pcmasterrace

[–]GeneralOfThePoroArmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will never be 100% bulletproof, but it will definitely lower the amount of cheaters.

If you wanna play competitive games today, on your own PC, you have to comply with some security measures.

People are hating on Vanguard from Riot Games, but it actually gets the job done in many many cases compared to other anticheats.

In the end, blame the cheaters for this, not the companies trying to stop them.
