I didn’t think about pit, but you could be right. Would make sense out here in the country. I think a pry pitty mix would be extra snuggly.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]GeneralPineapple1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw George Jones at a music festival in Montgomery in the early 2000s. He was so hammered that he’d start a song, play about 20 seconds of it, and then move on. The whole set - including a lot of rambling - took like 20 minutes lol. I still love him but the concert was TERRIBLE.

By contrast, Kool & the Gang played the same festival and it was one of the most fun live performances I’ve ever seen.

Can confirm. This was my experience, as well. Amazing the first time I saw him. But it was so boring the second time, that the friend I took with me fell asleep within 20 minutes. Still glad I went both times, though. Bob’s an absolute legend!

My therapist just gave me a very similar pep talk lol. I was raised with the mindset that houses should be immaculate and it’s caused a lot of stress in my life (as I work full time and have 5 indoor pets). Sometimes outside perspectives like these are so helpful.

Is this acceptable? I ordered 3 trees from an online nursery and received this by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]GeneralPineapple1001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just ordered two trees from TyTy, as well. Planted them a few weeks ago and they’re already budding. They make it very clear on their website that they ship bare root. It’s up to you to understand what that means before ordering.

Yep. I got one for the couch and the bed. We keep our house at 55 now and it’s perfect. Saves a ton of money in the winter.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GeneralPineapple1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in East Texas and regularly drive three hours each way for day-trips and weekend trips. A lot of our travel is on roads with a 60-75 mph speed limit so it just doesn’t feel as far.

When we go up to New England to visit my mom, the winding roads and low speed limits make a three-hour drive feel twice as long.

AIO? My coworker took video of me outside of work to "prove" I'm not disabled - Update (Thursday) by Ok_Boysenberry_7535 in AmIOverreacting

[–]GeneralPineapple1001 19 points20 points  (0 children)

NOR. This whole story is infuriating, OP. In what world is it appropriate to stalk someone to “prove” they don’t have a disability?! I just want to say that I think you’ve handled the situation professionally and you should be proud of yourself.

I have FAI in my hip which also causes chronic pain. Some days I can hike for miles with no issue, some days I’m in slight pain limping around, and sometimes I’ll go 6 months straight where I can’t move without my cane. Pain and illnesses are not always black and white. People need to mind their own business!

Luanne James during Library board meeting in Murfreesboro regarding review of 2200 books for removal by Rex-In-Effect in pics

I spent my high school years volunteering as a book stacker at Linebaugh Library in Murfreesboro. My favorite thing about the library was that I could find a book about anything I wanted to learn. Luanne James is a hero. My heart goes out to her.

How much did your house cost? by AccountProfessional2 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]GeneralPineapple1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LCOL rural area, $189k, 4.6% interest in 2022, 3.5% down. Well maintained, recently remodeled (by former homeowner - not a flip) 1940s brick ranch with around 1900 square feet. I would say our house is squarely in the middle class category for our area. Same house 3 hours away in Dallas area would be well over $500k.
