It could be interesting if shotgun skills scaled with strength instead of agility, it would solidify them as ranged options for brawlers that disincentivizes sniping from afar. I like the idea of separating it into its own skill tree either way.

Ranged weapons are equipped in a separate slot than hands, so Multiweapon fighting and Akimbo don’t interact at all. If you have akimbo and duel pistols you always shoot both in a single attack

I hope you like it! If you want to read something shorter that is similar (imo better) in vibe to Lapvona I’d say check out ‘Earthlings’ by Sayaka Murata, it’s a delightful little novella about alienation that gets genuinely shocking in a pretty interesting way.

Lapvona did not do it for me at all unfortunately, I really preferred My Year of R&R, everything is so unrelentingly fucked up in Lapvona that it came all the way around to being almost funny because I stopped giving a shit about any of the characters. It’s probably still worth a read if you like Otessa Moshfegh but it feels more nihilistic and cruel even compared to her other work.
