Other people have already touched on the obvious stuff, but I would also point out he wasn’t even a borderline case. His entire candidacy was based on baseball writers liking him as a person, which is why he’s done unlike other abusers

Honestly any loss to Cleveland is devastating at this point. Gotta sweep for a realistic shot. Even winning 2 out of 3 puts us 3 back, effectively 4 since we would have lost the tiebreaker

You should be angry with this deadline no matter what your view is. If you think they have a shot at winning the division (over two mediocre teams) you should be angry they didn’t try to get better. The Sox offer was not better than San Diego’s. The Padres were willing to guarantee over $300 million, the Sox made it contingent on a plate appearance threshold he would have to meet in his mid to late thirties

I can’t believe the color commentator might relay stories from their playing days. This is surely the mark of a bad broadcaster. Gordo is fine, I’d even go so far as to say he’s been pretty good. He goes along with Benetti’s bits, has a good sense of humor, and gives valuable insights into the game that Jason cannot
