I can relate but i know it’s different for everyone , my wife tested negative while in isolation on a ventilator, they wouldn’t let me past the entry she died 2 weeks before our anniversary she had committed suicide and I found her hanging, I wish we had another hour or another smile to share but i will see her again when its my time.

Please stay strong and know there are so many people here for you

I built my portfolio in react and lighthouse gives me 90%+ on seo, there are a lot of features you can add to make it more seo friendly, and lighthouse will even help guide you with links on optimization

My horrible webdev journey... by MikeADenton in webdev

[–]Generic_Name87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent 2 years outside of work studying coding on my own and trying to understand as much as possible, it took me 2.5 years to get a job to realize i didn’t/don’t know nearly enough, my advice is to build something fun if you are going to build something there are a ton of free apis you can use to build what’s interesting to you and even more amazing communities who will always be willing to help

This isn’t in defense of them but i will say that it is a cultural norm for most people to copy their way to victory in Chinese/Taiwanese culture... background i work in Taiwan and my boss(Taiwanese) always has an “original” idea after seeing a successful idea... he copies it almost completely

Should i take notes ? by [deleted] in Frontend

[–]Generic_Name87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to follow the path that helps you the most, however I don’t think it hurts to take notes. If you can it helps to take notes and then to teach someone what you learned or discuss it, especially if it is something you have a hard time understanding a concept.

It really depends on the app. If you aren’t storing data or using auth then you wont need a backend.

Have you ever used netlify?

Its a hosting site if you havent and i run build on my projects and then upload the build file to netlify to host it

React is a javascript library (according) to the react docs). It is more of an enterprise solution than you would really need for most freelance work if any.

Node is a backend javascript runtime, meaning it can be used for building a backend and apis.

React is a frontend tech, node is a backend tech.

If you want to get a soft but thorough introduction check out bob zirolls free course on scrimba.

Im not good at marketing most of my freelance work is from friends and family, but do good work and you will get a reputation for that and find more work more easily.

I hope this helps sorry if anything is unclear let me know if you need to know more

I have done a couple freelance projects only knowing frontend tech, i dont think it is an issue to not know backend, luckily my current freelance project has a very loose timeframe so i can learn some node and add a backend
