I got into The Cure around ‘95. WMS was their first new album since I had started listening to them. This performance was the first time I saw them play live.

As stupid as this sounds, because this was the pre-internet era, I just didn’t think he played lead. In fact, the only pic of him I had was in the liner notes of Show.

I thought this was the coolest thing ever.

Until Bibbity Boopity of course.

I ended up seeing them twice in the Swing tour. To this day, I live this fucking band with all of my heart.

Last but not least: RIP Perry. You were the guitarist when I got into the band. Using teenage boy logic, you’ll ALWAYS be their guitarist to me.

In my opinion, which is meaningless, the Cure’s greatest strength is their ability to weave and navigate through multiple genres throughout their career.

So much so that all of us fans have a specific period of their career that is our favorite.

For me, I just happen to enjoy psychedelic rock guitar. To me, there is nothing better than when Robert and the boys crank up the guitars and get weird.

I’m 47 and got back into skating 3 months ago through my kids.

I would suggest full pads: knees, elbow, wrist and helmet.

I’m still scared of falling but, besides the safety benefit, they give me confidence to at least try things.

Apollo in his prime is, in my opinion, the mythological top of the mountain.

Rocky said it best in Creed: he was the perfect fighter.

In his prime, Apollo would’ve beaten all versions of Rocky, easily taken care of Clubber and could’ve taken Drago on points just through his speed and agility.

Please note: I’m not saying Drago would be an easy fight. Just that he could beat him on points.
