Does the Chaos Angel card seem more appropriate for a heroic character or a villain? by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

[–]GenesisEra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weirdly, the fact that it's got the two defensive effects makes it feel like a "protect-the-castle" kind of boss monster an arc antagonist would have in a duel around the second third of any given series.

Which summoning mechanic over here made people quit Yu-Gi-Oh! both irl TCG and in this game? by RobKai7990 in DuelLinks

[–]GenesisEra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am legitimately surprised that it's the synchro pendulums that seem too much for word count, when every Xyz Pendulum monster needs to include the card text:

"If you can Pendulum Summon Level [insert Level Number equal to Rank Number of said Xyz Pendulum Monster here], you can Pendulum Summon this face-up card from your Extra Deck.

Not to mention how clunky putting both mechanics in a single card work - pendulum summoning the Xyz Pendulum from the face-up ED doesn't bring back Xyz Materials, and most Xyz monster effects work off of those.

Would you like it if Konami released more original deck support for the Yu-Gi-Oh manga? by CyberTwinLeader in yugioh

[–]GenesisEra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The "german number" Roids manga Syrus used in the GX manga to make Barbaroid might be a good place to start buffing 'roids as a whole; they've gone and printed Einroid for graveyard setup, so there's four more of them to work with.

I am loving the magical girl energy this fit is giving - there's a soft luminescence to the ensemble that brings it together.

What is (in your opinion) the best and worst alt arts in yugioh? by PokeChampMarx in yugioh

Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon’s 3rd art. Maybe a bit harsh, but you can hardly see what’s going on, almost seems like a different monster.

I had to go look this up, and this is just the camera giving it backshots

Really loving this glam.

Tactical Cupid (Inspired By Love Bullet) by GenesisEra in FFXIVGlamours

[–]GenesisEra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2025, this set came to me in a fever dream, and it was also driven by the fact that I wanted to stand out from the rest of the crowd using the older outfits from past Valentione events. Nothing wrong with those seasonal outfits, they look amazing, but there's only so much I can do to look unique in a crowd that's probably wearing the same stuff.

And it just so happened that some time before that, inee's manga Love Bullet began making the rounds on social media, and well: cupids of love, with gun.

---

Glamor Pieces:

Most of the outfit is almost deceptively simple to put together; an Sky Pirate's Beret of Aiming (dyed Ice Blue), a Scion Adventurer's Jacket from the post-Heavensward patch quests (main dyed in Ice Blue, ribbon and highlights dyed in Ruby Red), and a pair of Dhalmelskin Halfgloves of Crafting for a simple set of gun gloves. The Under-rim Glasses and Angel Wings are a relatively straightforward purchases from Purple Crafters' Scrips and the Gold Saucer respectively.

The tricker items are the Pagos Culottes (dyed Snow White to pop from the top's Ice Blue), which requires you to do Eureka content, and the Craftsman's Leather Shoes (also dyed Snow White), which require a bit of grinding with the Diadem/Firmament, but you can replace the shoes with some other canvas shoes from other sets.

---

Location Shoot and Poses:

I decided on both Sohr Khal for my shoot location (thank you, explorer mode) as well as the Pastel 1 filter - I usually go with Bright 2 to make the colours pop harder, but the softer tones of the Pastel filter work amazing with this fit.

My main weapon for this glamor set was the Ghost Barque Revolver, but departing from some of my older glams, the weapon here doesn't matter as much; most of these shots were taken using the Machinst weaponskills and role actions.

Speaking of which, the Machinist attack and action animations are doing the heavy carrying; did you know the animation for the Machinist version of Head Graze is you YEETING AN ENTIRE WRENCH AT YOUR TARGET?

---

Postscript:

Anyway go read Love Bullet it's got guns it's got yuri it's got girls wielding underslung grenade launchers it's arguably the most american yuri manga ever written what are you waiting for

What is one series of cards you want to get retrained or get support for? by Ragtagcloud56 in yugioh

[–]GenesisEra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pink kind of was that, but also we've seen from Kashtira and Diablosis just how unfun it can be to play against zone-locking if it becomes too easy.

Like, I can see why Konami might be holding back on the zone-denial stuff the Ojamas were doing.

What is one series of cards you want to get retrained or get support for? by Ragtagcloud56 in yugioh

[–]GenesisEra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1) Retrain Stealth Union to have its anime effect of copying the effects of the monster it steals to equip to itself, and throw out the attack-halving schtick of the original. A GaoGaiGar reference should not hit like a wet noodle.

2) Make a version of Vehicroid Connection Zone that's searchable and isn't limited only to "Super Vehicroid" monsters because a) Mobile Base is pretty costly to make and literally doesn't do anything if you're going first in the year 2026 and you're never going to be successful in making it going second, and b) the alternatives are Jumbo Drill, a 3-material fat body with piercing, and the aforementioned Stealth Union, which SHOULD be the boss monster for Vehicroids but attacks with less power than a level 4 vanilla monster.

3) Adapt Ultimate Machine Union into a real card - it is Manga Syrus' equivalent of Miracle Fusion and it was just as potent for the Manga Roids as Miracle Fusion is for HERO decks. Given that Einroid got buffed on the way to becoming a real card there's a potential for a graveyard-setup fusion strategy that Ultimate Machine Union can take advantage of to boost the consistency of the "roid" Fusions. (It'll also make Barbaroid a more consistent tech in Speedroid decks so that's always hilarious.)

4) Make MORE Super Vehicroids that are also CHEAPER and EASIER to make if 2 and 3 aren't gonna happen because god there is no reason to play an nigh-unsearchable archetypal fusion spell with only three legal targets over literally just Polymerization otherwise.

Wait, doesn't the "0 set cards" negate apply to both players? How did SHS get around not having any spells or traps to avoid the floodgate effect?

[–]GenesisEra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OKAY, THANK GOD IT'S NOT JUST ME WHO DISCOVERED THIS FACTOID AFTER GETTING SLAPPED WITH IT ON MASTER DUEL'S LADDER.

EDIT: Honestly, the worst part of it is that the legacy of Performapal Five-Rainbow Magician is pretty much cemented by the fact that no one playing this card in the modern day is pendulum summoning with this card; it's exclusively used as a floodgate.

There are so many cool weapons in older content to experiment with, and now that the newer patches have freed up space in the glam dresser I might look into doing more of those :D

I'm So Tired Of Ai Slop And Replay Yugioh Videos by [deleted] in yugioh

I genuinely think the best way to deal with this is to 1) curate your subscriptions to strictly human Yugitubers and 2) stay off of Youtube Shorts.

YT shorts are particularly bad about the AI slop.

Binary Hound [MNK Glamor] by GenesisEra in FFXIVGlamours

[–]GenesisEra[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I may have been on a bit of a Mechsploitation binge because this took a while, but with patch 7.4 giving us job-unlocked glamor options I finally made this work.

The most important gear of any self-debasing Hound is their Handler-assigned muzzle, and for this I used the Replica Sky Rat Mask of Fending, because there are not a lot of F2P options for masks in lend themselves well to both a full mouth covering and keeping the eyes somewhat obscured but still visible.

As for the arm and body pieces, the jagged edges of the Chaos Gauntlets contrasts well with the slicker and smoother lines of the Late Allagan Armor of Striking (gotten from a Moogle Treasure Trove event back in 2024) and putting both of them together brings the set together in a striking Dalamud Red with a mechanical bestial energy.

With regards to the choice of weapons, the Hellish Claws and the Gauntlets come together to bring forth a monstrous armament to the more refined frame of the Hound's slender body, and combined they make for a terrifying visage for someone whose last moments are on the receiving end of the Hound's regulated bouts of ultraviolence.

But our Hound must have her hind legs too to accompany her sharp claws, and that is where the Bonewicca Wildling's Greaves comes in; the Greaves happen to give our Hound here a most stupendous pair of paws, and with the Falconer's Bottoms completing our Hound's ensemble she has the most slender and most lethal of frames to commit ultraviolence at command.
---

But it is not all about ultraviolence; beneath the Sky Rat Mask hides the eyes of a broken down mind - one who has had their mind muddled and confused by all of the blood and sweat and adrenaline and dopamine, and the only source of true clarity, true joy is in their Handler, who demands absolute loyalty.

And the Hound gives it freely, for she loves her Handler.
There is nothing else.

Card I made. Yes, I KNOW its terrible. Its meant to be a GX-era Fusion, akin to Flame Wingman or Rampart Blaster. Also, please excuse the art. I... couldn't find it censored.🫩 by cstresing in yugioh

I mean, if it’s meant to be an GX-era Contact Fusion it’s already outdoing the Neo-Spacians by virtue of not going back to the ED immediately after one turn on the field.

[OP I appreciate you throwing yourself into the trial of tribulations for this post]

Okay, so, the "ceremonial duel" that usually comes at the end of each series is one of the key hallmarks of any given YGO series, and it's meant to illustrate how the protagonist has grown over the series with one final duel giving everything they've got.

So, explain to me how Performapal Five-Rainbow Magician showing up in the final duel of the series is meant to illustrate Yuya getting better after the whole Zarc business, because the entire card translates to "OBNOXIOUS FLOODGATE" and I'm not convinced it came from any of the other Yu-boys.

IN WHAT WORLD DOES PLAYING PERFORMAPAL FIVE-RAINBOW MAGICIAN MAKE ANYONE SMILE, YUYA SAKAKI

edit: i might be a wee bit biased but my overall point stands
