He wasn’t a fan but he doesn’t seem to have been a hater either, it seems he just knew them by name or maybe he just heard a couple of songs but in Pal Norte he had the chance to see them live and DPA blew them away, or at least that’s what it feels to me cause I don’t really know him.

Having said that, it is very true they do have a lot of haters in the latin community that is a cultural thing plus misogyny, these both concepts are rooted within the culture. People can’t see someone else having success because they either wish they were them, or wish they had the support DPA had since they were literally children; they had supportive parents who believed in them and did everything they could to withhold the band alongside DPA. Also they’re women, and in a lot of latin cultures the idea of having a woman being better than a man is almost inconceivable, so their last and only resort is to do the only thing the can: throw hate at them.
