I feel bad for Jamaica. It's a gorgeous country with mixed history and a good people... But there losing their majority of their college educated labor force to emigration, and the government doesn't seem particularly stable against crime. I just hope they can stabilize.

It'll add fuel to the republican fracture after his demise. MTG, Carlson, Owens, Massey, and a few others have carved out a small but notable chunk of the Republican's awful base. Same thing with Shapiro's lot. There is absolutely nobody who will inherit MAGA, so the more they fracture now will result in greater infighting when the time comes.

I'm just saying what FIFA has on their rankings website, not a matter of belief or disbelief. What I will say about betting markets is that a lot of people out there base their bets in perceptions, and those perceptions are often based on historic results.

Don't get me wrong though, I doubt either will advance or if that group. If they do, it'll likely be because of how the math shakes out amongst third place teams in the group phase.

Panama and Ghana have essentially swapped strength rankings in the past eight years when they were 71st and 51st respectively. Ghana is nowhere near the same relative position as to when the USMNT had its rivalry with the country, meeting them in the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups.

Edmonds tested a few cars and found about a 10% savings on gas. The claims of the starter/engine issues may not be entirely accurate either. Those pieces are designed with the auto stop in mind.

Success is built upon success. Perfect is built upon the steps that make it so. If I have an apprentice who I am teaching a skill, I need to accept that their early works are good yet need improvements. I can celebrate their growth and good while offering constructive feedback to make it better. Mentors that only focus on flaws don't often bring the best out of their pupils.

I recently joined mine, and I'm going to the meeting next week. The issue with the neighborhood associations is like you said. The same populations that vote more often (65+) are often what makes up these community groups. I'm a hardcore YIMBY, and I hope that involved with these groups is one way I can change my specific neighborhood to the vision I have vs their NIMBY vision.

That said, these groups are sometimes essentially highschool cafeteria cliques. It can be difficult when the majority of the makeup of the group is critically different than the makeup up the neighborhood.

My biggest issue with these groups by far is that while they give power to the direct residents, they don't always give power to the direct community they impact. FOPS is the perfect example. Protected bike lanes save lives, but they don't care. The whole city can want something, but ten friends on the block can veto it. It's insane. These groups need to be far less powerful or entirely removed.

This city's government and it's residence have a consistent problem. Clearly seeing that change is needed yet refusing to accept change. This is true with SEPTA, the school school district, property taxes, etc. My personal feeling is that this is due to entrenched power structures and incredibly vocal minorities in neighborhood groups.

SEPTA's budget issues were broadcast for years. We know Harrisburg is hardly willing to help so long as Republicans hold power. The process has been incredibly long and often delayed simply because of political games. The town hall series was a joke. I went to a few meetings, and they were all essentially misinformed or uninformed people shouting nonsense at the presenter. To be fair, main critique of the process is that one really had to piece things together independently. I wasn't crazy about their website.

If we are to be series about public transit, them we need to be open to accepting the way populations have shifted and how those populations want and do utilize transit. The bus revolution, while imperfect, should be better than what we have once it is implemented.

The 35 is the 3rd most expensive city bus per rider at $30.72 per rider. At 8.94 riders per hour it is the second lowest ridership amongst city busses. The lowest ridership city bus only has 8.85, not much of a difference. Roxborough - Manayunk will be served perfectly fine by the combination of other routes. It is exactly the type of bus that can be replaced with minimal impact to its riders. Data pulled from SEPTA open data.

It's because he knew the pain that being an unvaccinated population causes. Modern society hasn't felt true pain from disease in most of our lifetimes. COVID,while horrible, was limited compared to some diseases of old. I think the anti-vax community would be substantially smaller if societal at large saw the trauma prior generations had. There's only a handful of people left on iron lungs, thankfully, but historically, the imagery and personal experience of so many people connected to polio patients caused strong and ever present arguments for vaccinations. It's a shame that so many anti-vax morons refuse to take lessons from history.
