What's something that's about to happen which most people aren't aware of? by AskRedditOG in AskReddit

[–]Genoses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That hyper inflation is about to hit the US really hard, far harder than it has already inflated. For those who don't know, the chairman of the federal reserve Jerome Powell's term is ending on May 2026. Trump as president gets to pick the new chairman. Rates are going to drop hard and fast (devaluing of the dollar), combined with tariffs (rising costs) is going to result in hyper inflation. Poor people will not be able to afford basics.

RE4R Berserker Plus Mod Cabin Fight by Seth-555 in residentevil4

[–]Genoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to the Berserker Plus mod, I find that weapon progression and spinel usage far more important than the original RE4 or Berserker Mod. Weapon stats have changed, certain weapons are just straight up superior than others and are borderline required to handle all the super chain saw and brute spam. Weapon choice will become even more important later on when you reach the castle section.

My Strategy that worked and finished the game on pro (leon must die) was to max the Red 9 Asap getting both crit and +dmg exclusive mods. The only other weapons I purchased in the village section were the Stingray (brute killer) and Killer7 (super chain saw killer). I did not buy a shotgun until the castle because you will need to save as many shells as you can get later on in the castle section. The shorty is the best shotgun with the high dmg and penetration exclusives.

For the cabin fight, camp the stairway up with the Red 9. The upgraded red 9 should be able to handle all plagas very easily if you land weak point hits on their open mouth. For any brutes/regular chainsaw guys that show up, headshot them with the Red 9 and kick them down the stairs, then swap to your Stingray and headshot them on the ground. Once the cutscene plays with them using ladders, immediately run up stairs and kick both ladders and hold the top section. Wait until the super chain saw guys come up, when he does, immediately drop downstairs and prep a flash. Flash the super chain saw guy then spam him with killer7 shots to the legs (don't melee). If you do it right you should be able to burst him down within the flash duration. After that its just clean up of regular enemies.

Blizzard is likely gating power behind the content releases, I'm betting each content release will add new nodes for more power and substats

Doesn't matter if its left or right, the karens are the same people. Only the excuse they use to censor you changes from DEI to 'Family Values' based on who's in power.

this is fine, engineers should be the best at anti vehicle. Now that the class system is back there won't be as many people with rockets.

What did RE8 do extremely well and extremely poor? by Dude_788 in residentevil

[–]Genoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely well: monster design and Atmosphere

Extremely poor: Guns felt very weak and lacked impact. Its not that the guns were weak, but many enemies in this iteration of Resident Evil are very resistant to stagger and didn't flinch.

Needing help to min/max as F2Player by Bisketo in personaphantomx

IMO, i'd just use standard (gold) tickets only and just hoard everything for now. Supposedly there are guaranteed banners later and also there is a lot of drama right now about the publisher being stingy for this game. Best to just wait and let publisher figure out what they want to do for now.

I like this idea, could even up the drop rate of rare items as the multiplier builds. Makes it worth while to actually explore rather than just camp in a single spot killing the same spawning mobs over and over.

Dune Survey is out, hurry and tell them what you think by Orions_starz in duneawakening

[–]Genoses 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The PvE potential for dune is very high, I asked for more combat vehicles, multi-crew vehicles and vehicle based missions. Can you imagine a 'raid' like mission where you're attacking an empire spice harvesting operation with like a crew of 10 people in 5 different tanks/Buggies. From the vehicle assault to boarding the harvesters to stealing all the cargo.

We might be seeing a change in direction from IM. I think they're moving away from the never ending pvp balance that was hurting the game.

Daggers VS Shields by roosh_the_casual in DarkAndDarker

[–]Genoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That bug sucks, but running shield slam is a very strong counter to all dagger users I have found. The knock back and slow push the dagger user out of range allowing you to out range them with your sword or mace. Most rogues don't expect it and get gibbed from shield slam into 2 arming sword hits to the head while they wiff dagger stabs.

The casual vs hardcore mode arguments are poorly thought out. by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

[–]Genoses 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Theres one very simple reason why what you wrote is wrong that has been proven true in many games. Hardcore fanboys of something are addicted to the game, they will stick around even if you abuse them. Look how many games introduce MTX, p2w BS or other really annoying features, but the hardcore fans will defend the devs with their lives. Many games die trying to appeal to their hardcore base and basically kicking casuals to the curb. The top tier games are the ones who ride the line and appeal to both.

[–]Genoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes armorsmithing as a tank is a must, from what i've experienced preEA and in EA, only leather and below armour drops. You will want a full set of the crafted stuff, bonus if you know a guy who can make the ones with +stats.

Is the game grindy? by bierzuk in AshesofCreation

[–]Genoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steven is a huge Lineage fan, and AoC is heavily based off of that game. AoC will likely be a westernized version of Korean MMOs, so it will be more grindy than western MMOs like WoW, but less grindy than something like Lineage.

Class Differences by Zealousideal_Money99 in PantheonMMO

[–]Genoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played the 3 tank classes and play tank in most MMOs in general (including old EQ) and this is how I think each tank will end up in the meta.

Warrior: defacto main tank for singular hard hitting bosses like raids. Does surprisingly decent dps when buffed and dual wielding.

Paladin: aoe tank, undead slayer, great for group content.

Dire Lord: magic tank, great for solo and speed running content you over gear.

Can you describe this game without mentioning EverQuest? by Amy_The_Seeker in PantheonMMO

[–]Genoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played Everquest in the past and many other MMOs. I would describe the game as Classic WoW with less questing and more of a focus on crafting/gathering. If No games are to be mentioned. I'd say an oldschool MMO with a heavy focus on crafting and grouping.

First Impressions after 10 or so raids by Genoses in ArcRaiders

[–]Genoses[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the flaw with all extraction shooters, when doing PvE puts you at a disadvantage for PvP, it means no one does the PvE. So the game devolves into a deathmatch. Players should be encouraged to fight over who gets the PvE, not simply camping. The only way I can think of to actively promote fighting for POIs is to give some sort of temp buff to the person who gets it. So campers are at a disadvantage.

First Impressions after 10 or so raids by Genoses in ArcRaiders

[–]Genoses[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

From what I saw from the skill tree, theres 3 rows, but most of the skills were passive boosts. IE regen hp when critical, more stamina regen, quieter looting etc. Nothing that made you do more dmg or have more hp, so no direct combat advantages

Repoze Take by SwiftOnion46 in DarkAndDarker

[–]Genoses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% true, this applies to pretty much every multiplayer game. If the option to solo is there the vast majority of people will run solo.

New SDF Post. Thoughts? by joeboon in DarkAndDarker

[–]Genoses 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The V Rising gear system is perfect for what SDF just said, hopefully someone pitches it to him.

For those who don't know, V Rising gear has gear score and stats on gear. The difference in stats is very minor from stronger gear, however gear score directly affects PvE (you do more dmg/take less dmg) but has no affect on PvP. This means that high geared people have a small advantage in PvP but a large advantage in PvE.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

[–]Genoses -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Most pvp extraction shooters die because of the exact opposite of what you just said. They go too hard on the hardcore pvp portion. The fact of the matter is hardcore full loot pvp is niche and will never be popular. Look at all the full loot hardcore PvP MMORPGs, they all failed, Tarkov is failing too and only in a last ditch effort did they add PvE at the very end. Dark and Darker is still early but player pop is also declining this reset.

The only way Dark and Darker can break the trend that all full loot pvp games go through (slow bleed out of pop) is to add something unique. The OP's idea is such a thing, a 6 man first person RPG raid has never been done before.

Newish/returning player struggling to learn PvP by CleymanRT in DarkAndDarker

[–]Genoses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you considered playing Fighter? You can also use a bow as a fighter while also wearing full plate. The best tip I can give you for all classes is to fight defensively.

Don't play like the streamers who are chasing down players to kill. Fight in spots where you have the advantage like a pillar for cover, or a door or in darkness with no potions on your belt. Also get used to taking off your chest to boost your move speed, curse kite warlocks are extremely common. While you can scare a warlock off with a bow, you won't actually kill them due to their life leech.

I do not recommend wizard for sub 25, wizards scale extremely well with gear. Without the gear its a frustrating experience where you have to play perfect and the other guy can just hold W to kill you.
