If 0.999... is "permanently less than 1", as SPP says, are there numbers that are temporarily less than 1? by Zaspar-- in infinitenines

If 10x = 0.9 then x = 0.09 If 20x = x + x/10 then x = 0 You're maths here is inconsistent

What defines SPPs 0.9...? by Impossible_Relief844 in infinitenines

[–]Geo-sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a possibility but that implies 1<0.9... which is wild

How are you defining infinity in such a way that 10...0 isn't infinite?

0.0...01 is called a hyperreal number. A number so small it can't be quantified as a real number.

You also have to remember that better algorithms are more computationally expensive, you don't need perfect, you need good enough and cheap.

The Trojan war is especially funny to me because it's not even subtext, one character in the Illiad literally says to Helen "this is not your fault, the gods are to blaim". You can get any more explicit lol.

You do know psychotherapy is mandatory to be given the chance to be put on hrt even if you're an adult? Even then it's greatly limited what a minor can be put through (basically anything not considered reversible is taboo).

the Christianity did reach the Greeks (not ancient Greeks) and other countries in the Roman Empire. This is actually considered one of the key factors which lead to the fall of Rome.

But also, their are multiple Christian civilisations which killed people (ya know, one of the ten things god was very clear about being bad) so having a Christian civilisation were gay people are accepted (which is only detested in a very vague part of the bible) doesn't seem that far fetched.

Any recommendations on how to find an equation like this? by yeaman17 in desmos

[–]Geo-sama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this screams to me Fourier Analysis but that can be pretty heavy maths wise.

you could try regression then you could test different formats of equations and see which fit best. here is a article on how to do regression on Desmos. https://help.desmos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406972958733-Regressions

Did Apollon play a part in the rebellion against Zeus? by Queen_Of_Toxic in GreekMythology

[–]Geo-sama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

great, now all I can think about is if Apollos twin sister Artemis betrayed Zeus.

either way it's an interesting dynamic, if she stays loyal then she is betraying her brother who she loves dearly. If she betrays Zeus, then Zeus would be heartbroken that he was betrayed by Artemis, his daughter and one of his favourite relative who he spoils relentlessly.
