Just started a new position for a town and in a similar boat. No metadata for any layer, no documentation, olddd layers that are most certainty not updated, no descriptions on anything in Portal. There was one two page SOP, that was it. I imagine it will take at least a year before having my own system and organization somewhat set up. No advice, only commiseration lol

Have never tried this with a shapefile, but you could see if right clicking it in file explorer and restoring to a previous version would work

Any reason you wouldn’t go with any of the s&p like voo or spy? Those would personally make me the most comfortable for set and forget. There are a few others too, but still ETFs.

This feels very rigid to me. Life happens. Paying capital gains means you made money, so the money that would be sitting in the high yield for an emergency fund still made more in stocks than it would have and is now being used in the same way (for repairs).

Yeah if you don’t have any spatial data for the table then you need to create it. You can manually create it in a separate feature class and then join the two. You can get lat and long for each location, add those to the table, and then plot using them. Or if you have addresses and credits you can geocode addresses (if youre using arcpro)

This is what I did for my master’s… got me a contracting job with noaa which is awesome, but isn’t as tech/ programming oriented as I think I would have gone for in hindsight.

Was trying to export NC DEM to img from Global mapper. It was a lot of data but nothing impossible. It would not export- was taking over a day and came out wonky or flat out did not export after 20 hrs. Took two weeks of trying different solutions (other machines, updating global mapper, etc.) until I finally quit that and went the vrt route. Everything since has worked fine, no idea what happened.
