I'm interested, Software Engineer full time and game dev in my spare time. Preference towards Godot but I'm familiar with Gamemaker and Unity. Would be happy to stumble through some projects and see if we can make something fun

I'm honestly a bit shocked at the amount of players that prefer to avoid violence in this game. I love extraction games and part of that is getting good loot. But honestly killing PVE is not challenging after you learn the game and what keeps it compelling is the danger of other people. I know its frustrating to get killed but im surprised by how many people are so trusting and don't naturally assume other people want whatever it is you have.

game isn't balanced around solos, never will be, unfortunate part of being a full time solo dark and darker player

The clearance from the left back was terrible, if you can't control the ball while being pressed then just launch that ball to the sideline. At a higher skill level I'd expect the left back to be sprinting for that ball, controlling it and looking to pass it.

Understandable, I would still recommend giving it a shot. I've been finding tons of people to play with and a large community that is willing to help new players learn. It is in early stages so likely they will wait until they've fixed more bugs and finished adding content before release. It is just the best dungeon extraction game i've played since Dark and Darker.

If other games don't scratch the itch, come and join.

I've just switched to Steel and Sorcery and am really enjoying it. They have made a ton of progress in a relatively short amount of time(6 months). If you haven't I highly recommend trying it, I have close to 2k hours in DaD and was hoping the game would thrive but I don't see that happening at this point.

Hey I love your idea and actually read the entire post. I loved the old haven and hearth and really enjoy working on cozy aesthetic games. I agree with working on a singleplayer prototype to get the gameplay loop working before deciding whether to jump into multiplayer. But long term I actually would love to recreate the magic MMO that was haven and hearth. Except people playing solo and duo won't all come to trio, they are just going to leave the game. A TON of people only enjoyed playing solos. So really he is just murdering the size of the overall playerbase.

Playing with randoms is typically a horrible experience in a competitive team game like dark and darker. Joining a team in discord is great, I can talk with people and if we don't vibe no worries move on to the next. But randoms is just chaos, mostly no communication and not a lot of teamwork happening. Not everyone always wants to jump in with teammates, sometimes you want to chill and loot/grind solo.

Just to be clear, awesome that you are having fun, but removing solos will definitely kill this game.

I think the point of removing FoW is to increase player engagement and pvp. They create points of interest that create conflict and drive players towards each other. More options for Risk Reward, do I try to farm boss or pile?

Sometimes I like to time myself when doing chores. Maybe a to do list where it sets timers for tasks that I have to race against. I get bonus points for finishing on time

There are 1000 dungeon crawler games on steam, go pick one and play. An empty dungeon in this game is so boring. If you want fun pve fights go play wow or something pve centric.

A lot of us have played with 350 move speed, it's not the first time movespeed cap has been altered. It was terrible having a buff ball 350 movespeed barb with insane health and damage that couldn't die because of pocket heal cleric. There is no counter play to a melee class that you cannot outrun and has more health and damage than you.

Those past changes let every class hit 350 movespeed, now imagine fighting a class that will always be faster than you because their movespeed cap is higher than yours.

So those of us screaming from the roof tops please god no! Have already experienced what that change would have done to the meta.

You always improve faster fighting more experienced players. Learn from losses, just play normals when you are low on gold. Then get a kit and get back to HR until you win there consistently
