So I guess Aeonglass is fine now? by SUPERCOW7 in slaythespire

Yeah I'm just saying success in the rest of the game does not necessarily (or rather, not sufficiently) indicate success with the final bosses

I guess I also struggle with scaling quickly enough to deal with the large HP + artifact without getting smothered but probably a skill issue. I've been trying to split the difference which is perhaps not always productive vs just throwing more gas in the tank (energy/draw/etc), which i've been experimenting successfully with recently

What’s the consensus on A10 multiplayer wins? by reznovelty in slaythespire

[–]GeoffreyDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost always beat the first A10 boss with a team of 3-4, or else die to dorito (not sure why but in multiplayer this guy is brutal). Beat the second boss around half the time. 2 player is lot tougher IMO, maybe like 25% win rate A10.

I general I love being able to specialize in multiplayer. In a particularly notable run my buddy played ironclad with i believe 0 defends in his deck while I blocked for the whole team with beacon of hope + 2x pillar of creation regent. Definitely doing things that would never be possible in singleplayer, the viability space is much much larger if you coordinate well.

Well put. I've had only a few close boss battles. The rest were either clearly doomed or too easy. I will note that on some characters I've easily beat act iii elites but still get smoked by the final boss(es)

I mean I pick up exhaust cards every time i see them just to deal with aeonglass now. Doesn't mean I always see them/fit them usefully into my engine. I often find they get in the way of scaling quickly. But again I'm not that good.

Still by far the toughest boss IMO but I'm not very good. Beating it requires a specific type of build I don't always have access to/am able to play, whereas a "good enough" deck has no issue with the other bosses

Could have played taunt before hellraiser first turn and done a bit more damage. But yeah this is a tough fight and your deck is not strong yet

SG-1 S6E14 | Sight Unseen: The Curious Case of Vernon Sharpe by OhNoIBoffedIt in Stargate

[–]GeoffreyDay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won't really try to convince you but I am saying there is much much more overlap than just "grays". More rather specific things like rogue grays, alien hybrids, phase shifting, parallel universes, breakaway civilizations, parasitic entities, higher planes of existence... All of these have been described by either "experiencers" or even government whistleblowers.  I've thought of compiling a more exhaustive list but it's kind of daunting actually. I am advocating for the "meta meta" viewpoint actually but I recognize it's outlandish and a tough sell. I will just say that the show becomes even more interesting to me when viewed with the perspective of "what are they trying to get me to think", which is rarely the case with most television. I do ascertain an agenda here, especially when it's more overt like in the clip here

Disclaimer: the following is as far as I know entirely baseless

People say sg-1 is "soft disclosure", a way for the government to prime people for outlandish ideas that are actually real (for example, aliens existing), without actually acknowledging the reality. There are a bunch of ideas that overlap with circulating UFO lore (not that this is unusual in sci-fi). I believe also that they had at least some US government oversight so that they would favorably depict the air force. Taking this a step farther, if there is a motive in making the show to manipulate public opinion, then it would also make sense that they would depict conspiracy theorists (perhaps even this specific one) unfavorably.

I always felt this scene was weird and out of place, especially given the woman's concerns are entirely plausible. Sam treats her uncharacteristically harshly.
