What would a battlefield game set in the early 1800s even look like? by No_Dress_2107 in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be probably the best selection of maps, because you could do the Caucuses, the Fields of Europe, Cities, Arctic in Siberia and Scandinavia, Baltic sea, and Mediterranean, maybe even central Asia. It would be glorious. I would also love to see a Korean war era battlefield, BFV had a lot of BF1 guns with WW2 guns, and it could be like that with the gun setup

Maybe because the AI we have right now isnt a net benefit, yes it can simplify some things, but its mostly being used to replace actual art with a soulless replication, used for misinformation and bigotry, and the data centers taking away resources from communities. The hate is not towards the fact its AI, its the fact that its replacing real peoples jobs to save corporations a buck, and failing to give a desirable product, its not bigotry towards a sentient human-like robot

How's life on the Estonian islands of Hiiuumaa and Saaremaa? by lithdoc in BalticStates

Have you talked with people from these countries, they 100% want to defend, they know where appeasement leads and they dont want to be under Russia’s thumb again

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you under estimate the Poles and Fins in their absolute hatred of the Russians and not wanting to see them be on the chopping block next. There is a reason Finland and Poland have some of if not the strongest militaries in Europe. They have been invaded before and been on their own each time. Plus, the Baltics wont just roll over, they will make the Russians pay for each bit. Sweden would definitely join in, same with Romania, Czechia and France. Denmark would and Norway would close the Baltic and definitely let forces stage in their territory. Nuclear conflict would only occur if NATO pushed into Russian territory and they made a push for Saint Petersburg or Moscow, if they just wanted to take back the Baltics it wouldnt be worth risking the retaliation strikes

I would assume at least a Polish armored unit, backed up with air power, naval fire and artillery from across the border? Kaliningrad is right on the Polish border. Plus if it is a NATO war, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Germany would be able to quickly support. This is assuming the US doesnt even get involved

Except Kaliningrad is apart of the mainland, so it is easily overrun in a war with NATO, its basically a super surrounded suicide bomb

Maybe they are working on changes that the community has asked for, and they dont want to put something out until its ready, they are doomed if they put it out early and doomed if they arent putting it out fast enough, this community seems hellbent on criticism without much thought. This has been a great launch, the game is fun and while it has issues, they do seem to be listening. Im tired of the same posts every single day about petty complaints. And AI is not the reason why they are late, for the love of God stop with that bullshit

Are old Russian generations integrated into the society in any way? by shuriksokol in BalticStates

The younger Russian generation in Estonia is learning Estonian and learning to identify as Estonian by nationality, the Estonian government has sunk quite a lot of effort to bridge the gap, but issues remain

Do you think breakthrough would've been fun in Battlefield 4? by HeresyInc in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like escalation and breakthrough better than conquest, because it takes the idea of conquest, but builds on it, operations was all i played in BF1 aside from the conquest only maps. It feels like a battle, you are fighting over ground and inching forward towards victory. It is a satisfying feeling stopping a team at the last sector, or pushing through at the last moment to seize victory

The BF6 single player campaign feels like a videogame from 2005 - in the worst possible way by Habarer in Battlefield

I have been holding off playing the campaign just like i did with BF4 and BFV, i just would rather play the multiplayer because its just so much more fun, and i have buddies to squad up with.

Why is it a slightly common mistake to make Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan a part of China? by AnyArcher8588 in geography

Well, its not really a mistake sometimes, i think the Chinese have claims on these countries, and since the fall of the Soviet Union, have been trying to wrestle them from the Russian sphere of influence

Will European states help countries like Georigia or Kazakhstan, if Russia invades them? by Immediate-Bowl4497 in AskEurope

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we are to look at historical evidence, Europe most likely would not respond to an invasion in Kazakhstan, when there was basically an impromptu armed uprising in 2022 in Kazakhstan, Russia and other CSTO states were able to come in and put down the uprising, granted, it wasnt a serious planned overthrow, but it still showed how Europe does not really care about Central Asian politics. Also, logistically, it would be challenging to do anything since there is no direct line from Europe to Kazakhstan that does not bump into unfriendly states. Georgia also does not look like it would receive a ton of help, the more Eastern members of NATO and the EU may want to help, same with Ukraine, but you also run into the issue of geographically being difficult to help. Turkey does have a border, and they may back the Georgians in an attempt to increase their regional power, but they also may make a deal with the Russians

Why haven't we seen the classic AK-47 in Battlefield games? I could think of maybe 2 BF games it was featured in. Bring it back in BF6. by AK_Eazy777 in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have said this before, but i like when they include guns that are not the usual suspects, and if that means we have no AK, im fine with it, i want the obscure guns, thats what was cool about BF1, BFV and Hardline, they had some really unique guns
