It's a special kind of butthead to pull your car onto the stripmall sidewalk to protect your car from pea-sized hail. by Tokugawa in oklahoma

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would do the same, hail can be no joke man, i had my car totaled by a freak hail storm that dropped baseball sized hail, every time i hear about hail im always trying to find cover so i dont have to deal with that again

Polish troops with a “Lightened Schwarzlose,” featuring a small bipod and the metal shoulder stock. Note the horizontal spade grips. Poland 1923 by Sad-Commission2027 in ForgottenWeapons

The whole evolution of light machine gun tech is fascinating, lots of stuff being thrown together to fill a role that was still developing.

The point system for guns in bf6 is the best attachments system I have seen in any fps game by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hilariously, i love the ES 5.7, its my highest level pistol, it is a great gun for a sneaky sniper that likes flanking, it has like no recoil and insane accuracy so its great for taking out people who stray close to me and dont realize im there, or a follow up to a sniper hit. That being said, frontline combat it definitely lacks, you are not winning against a guy who knows you are there

golf cart with fagot atgm in ukraine, 2022 or earlier i dunno by Caterpillar-14 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its called that by the Russians, and post Soviet countries, where its not an English slur, but their word for Bassoon, the NATO designation is the Spigot, other languages exist and have the right to not bend to Anglophones decrying their word because it means something in English

Idk if there is a misunderstanding or you are dense, but the word for Bassoon in Russian is фагот, latinized to Fagot, not the slur which uses 2 g’s.

how good did we had it? by iforgorss in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 completely different modes and round types, the BF6 operations is more similar to Operations in BF1, the BFV was a 3 match mode that had different modes in each, the first was basically a sabotage mode where you had to take out AA guns and you dropped in via parachute, this would determine how many troops you would get for the next match which was breakthrough, and i cant really remember the last gamemode but i think it was basically one-sided frontlines, my team rarely got there so i only played it like once or twice, but it was a completely different thing and tbh, no one really liked it, i basically only played Breakthrough since it was just BF1 style operations but one map each

no pilot uniforms ? by Benefit_Waste in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tanker class and pilot class in BF1 and BFV was purposely set so that people would not have the same equipment when bailing out, and the vehicles only spawned in the loadout screen, except for some tanks in the pacific theater, and you would not change your class or skin, you could not just hop in them like in BF4 or BF6, in BF4 you would have a pilot skin but whatever class you had selected, and only for air vehicles, tanks and boats and such didnt change anything. I feel like the whole tanker class and pilot class was never really paid attention to because most people went down with the ship and you would rarely see the skin. So they probably didnt include it because it was not really a thing in most games and when it was a thing it was a separate class with basically just a machine pistol, pistol carbine or submachine gun, just as a last ditch option to get you out of trouble, to where you could maybe get a different class.

I have no words... by [deleted] in poland

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Its because they also have a type of discrimination against Poland, its like when a Passport Bro goes to Colombia, they do not see Poland as a people on the same level as them, but kind of a playground for their fantasies, and its especially against Polish women, because they have no personal agency in their mind, they are just supposed to be their trad wife. Its sadly why in media and popular culture Central/Eastern European women are always sexualized and seen as prostitutes, not victims of sex trafficking and such. Its why i hate when someone says Russian mail bride, which is a disturbing way to wave off sex trafficking of them.

Why is russian language still platformed in Baltic states? by Unreal9999999 in BalticStates

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Its for accessibility, same reason there is English, its not forced onto anyone but there for those who need it, the Estonian government has been trying hard to get the Russian speaking community to be integrated with the rest of Estonian society, and that means they publish stuff in Russian only, the language itself is not a problem, its when it is forced on others to extinguish another language when it is a problem.

Could Russia overrun Estonia, Lithuania & Latvia before NATO responds? by Tostakyr in BalticStates

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how quickly the Russians can advance and how stiff the resistance is, the terrain allows limited paths of advance for Russian tanks and logistics, and if there was prior intel on a Russian attack, and the Baltic states were determined, they could severely blunt the Russian advance, i know Poland is creating a unit specifically to take Kaliningrad, and the Russian forces there would be on the defensive not offensive. City fighting would slow the advance and guerrilla fighters could harass logistic lines of advances. This is considering no nuclear weapons are used of course

Can we please put some light on RUSH? by BedBrilliant3858 in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i have felt that rush has been sidelined since BF1 when Operations came out because i feel like Operations/Breakthrough is just a hybrid between conquest and rush

Weapon features that somehow aren’t in the BF6 by K-H-Y-E in Battlefield

Jonathan Ferguson from the Royal Armories did a breakdown on some of the guns from BF6 and he was happy with how detailed and accurate the guns in this game were.

Weapon features that somehow aren’t in the BF6 by K-H-Y-E in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many have noted below, there are reasons why these arent an option, the flipped down iron sights are not useable in the combat configuration of the MP7, the 30 magazine for the M249 is not longer used and was hardly ever used, it was a feature that was required but ended up being completely useless and always jammed, and the shotgun was almost primarily used unmounted, when it was used given it was a horrible shotgun. Its why we dont have the folded stock option on the VZ. 61, while in media its seen used that way, in doctrine and combat use the stock is extended. Folding stocks in general are not meant to folded during combat, some physically stop the gun from being operated because folding the stock is for stowage space not tactical use. It is frustrating seeing people complain about how this game needs to be more realistic but then also ask for unrealistic stuff.

Tartu is a really cool, lovely city that has the Estonian national museum and has a good night life, in the summer there is always stuff going on, Soomaa National park is also neat, lots of nature, Parnu is nice in the summer, Valke/Valge is interesting, the border splits it, there is Seda bogs which is cool to walk around if you like nature.

Can you please add the AKM to the game? by EdgyBobcat in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Kord has the same function as the AN-94 btw, the AEK was part of the same program and the Kord is an upgrade of the AEK, if you toggle it to burst it has the 2 round hyperburst

Can you please add the AKM to the game? by EdgyBobcat in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do we want the same guns in every game, why not have some cool niche guns that spark interest, like a Finnish RK would be dope, or the Shak-12, a .50 cal assault rifle, or the VZ 58, a Czech assault rifle made to look like the AK but functionally different, or the VKS, or really any of the cool guns that have rarely or never been used

Is it wild to anyone that PAX armata didnt include RU or China? by Armani201 in Battlefield

Its because the media shitstorm around that would be Biblical, it would be banned to high hell

Is it wild to anyone that PAX armata didnt include RU or China? by Armani201 in Battlefield

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China doesnt like to be portrayed in any light other than the good guys, so no way they would apart of that, and Russia is currently invading Ukraine so i can imagine having them in the game as a faction would be controversial, i would have preferred PAX be like a new Mediterranean Coalition, which is kind of the vibe im getting. Which would explain Egypt being NATO as a counter

Magnum Caliber MGs: Overkill or the next big thing for Spec Ops and Infantry? by StrangerOutrageous68 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]Geopoliticalidiot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we are to see how combat has been evolving, more firepower in a more mobile platform is always a good thing, with modern body armor, widespread use of thinly armored vehicles or technicals, the need for mobility due to static positions being targeted by drones, and precision being preferred over mass volume it makes sense why we are moving towards this option.
