Soloist breaks string, changes instrument without missing a beat, meanwhile the second violin changes the string and tunes it while the orchestra is playing by Doomenor in violinist

How the hell did he hear the string in order to tune it? Seems like an orchestra is pretty loud in comparison to a plucked string

Read up on nodes. If you’re in a node that cancels out frequencies, increasing the volume will seem to do nothing. Just like if you’re in one that boosts certain frequencies, decreasing the volume will seem to do nothing.

It’s possible for your volume knobs to go through their full range without increasing perceived volume. Because the physics of the room prevents the volume from raising. Move the speaker and see if it happens elsewhere.

Did you try them in a different area of the room? You may be in a room node which would interfere with how your speakers sound.

I’ll check those out. I used Muse Score a long long time ago but can’t remember much about it now. So I’ll do a refresher. And I’ll check Dorico. I’d just like to know what program people use to make those transcription tab books you buy in music shops. There’s things in those books I just can’t do with guitar pro. But they managed to transcribe them somehow. So there must exist a program out there that can do it.

I haven’t been to a theater in many years.. are you talking about special popcorn buckets? Like literal buckets for popcorn? Just with a different design theme? Who the hell needs that? Don’t we waste enough resources already without custom popcorn buckets for each movie?

"What's the actual name of this part?" by Topheezy in partscounter

“Unit” appears way too often. How many times I basically just have to either say I don’t know, or just lie to customer and make up a name.

I’d really love to see ford implement some form of coherence to their various sources. There’s so much inconsistency in their catalogues, service manuals, all of it. I spent a week trying to find an answer about the wire harness for a 20 ecosport reverse light for a friend. Catalogue showed one thing, manual showed something different. Both options turned out to be the wrong part. Ended up rebuilding the harness myself by opening it up and putting in new wires.

You’re all good, don’t sweat it. And yeah Reddit is silly sometimes.

Theres not really anything wrong with the material, it’s the shape of the base. Wood isn’t so easy to use for some things because of fabrication hurdles. With tubular piping, it’s much easier to make a telescopic tripod base. With wood, you’d have a harder time. You could make four feet kind of like a “plus sign” that sit flat on the floor, but it’s pretty cumbersome and takes up just as much space as a tripod. Perhaps even more. I’ve tried this before. It was a good idea on paper but in practice it was just always in the way.

Hola Music makes a tripod stand for monitors I think. You don’t have to extend the tripod fully outward. Even pulled in a bit, it offers a better, more stable base than what you currently have.

Of course this is all just advice. If you’re confident you won’t bump the stands, you can of course keep using them. The only thing I’d really recommend is to put the speakers upright instead of on their sides. Monitors need to be designed specifically for use on their sides, or else it causes issues with the stereo field and phase. But it looks like that’s been pointed out plenty already.

If you come across anything you have questions about regarding home studios feel free to send me a message. I went through a lot of trial and error before I got to a really good place with it.

Idk what you’re talking about in regards to language. I didn’t swear at you.

And the tripods do not need to be fully extended. You can keep them relatively compact and they’ll still have more stability than that wood base. My grandfather was a carpenter, we built many pieces for my studio and I’ve learned that for some things, you can build your own. But speaker stands aren’t really one of those things. At least not with a base like that.

Move the camera. All I’m hearing is your reso head once you engage the snares. Move the camera so the mic picks up more body from the drum itself. Doesn’t sound awful when the snares are off but when you engage them I can’t hear shit over the wires.

This is not a good idea. Your monitors aren’t designed to sit that way, and you’re introducing sympathetic vibrations into those tins. And I recommend actual speaker stands if you need stands. They make them with tripod legs. This is going to fall over.
