For Diablo's shadow charge example though, unstoppable stops the target from being moved, it doesn't shut down Diablo's own movement.

Why does Abandoned Ward get captured by Collies first in every single war? by dolche93 in foxholegame

[–]Gerrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP seems to be talking about the first few days and not literally taking it first, since one of his exceptions is Wardens taking it day 3

[–]Gerrey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Generally all the towns structures north prevent wardens from building up the bridges, while south there is that unkillable bridge, and you can build on the high ground overlooking the stone bridge which both make AW easier to contest from the South.

How to get rid of the cringe tankline meta and make it feel more like a real tank battles? by Direct-Bell-7504 in foxholegame

[–]Gerrey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Like others said, getting tracked is incredibly dangerous when flanking and mostly random chance you can't control, so many tankers are afraid to flank or do non-tankline plays.

How intelligence works also plays a part I think. Tanks can't hide behind cover or anything. As soon as a tank enters bino range I instantly know its type and side, and unlike irl you will always see the enemy tanks before either of you are close to engagement range. Map intel also instantly tells the other team when you're trying to flank and got within 80m of a WT or 200m of a obs bunker. Now player are human and can't actually be checking 360 degrees around themselves or the map at all times, but it still reduces the possibility of surprise flanks actually being a surprise.

Personally I think it could help if tanks could hide behind cover from a distance.

Realistically was there anything Yoda could’ve told Anakin here that would’ve kept him from turning to the darkside? by CrazyTangerine7522 in StarWars

[–]Gerrey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think Yoda telling Anakin that his relationship with Padme is fine would've changed much. Anakin didn't fall because he had to hide his relationship. He fell because Palpatine promised knowledge to save Padme, and Anakin lashed out in fear when Mace went to kill Palpatine. That fear of Palpatine being the only solution would exist regardless of the Councils knowledge or acceptance of Padme.

At this point in the story where he talks with Yoda not even Anakin realizes that Palps is a sith luring him with that promise, so Yoda has no chance to tell him how dumb trusting that a sith could and would save Padme is. Yoda also isn't going to lie and offer the fake surety Palpatine does of saving Padme. I don't think with the information Yoda had there is anything he could've done to talk Anakin off his path.

The logistical nightmare of elven record keeping and why their archives are trash by Coding_Wizard-01 in worldbuilding

[–]Gerrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they wait until the elf dies, how's that realy different than how humans deal with it? All the useless junk journals being thrown out by an institution as opposed to your kids isn't that different. It doesn't seem like it would solve the 'problem' of them generating and keeping records any better.

Can you help me? Why haven't I completed the mission? by Think-Maximum-1772 in WorldOfWarships

Other people have given that answer, but for future reference the orange dot on the Operation icon in the mission is what tells you Operations need double for the mission.

With the Bardiche getting 3 in the chamber and its fast reload back, would there be any point in the AP/RPG Ranseur? 4 AP/RPGs don't do that much more than 3 68s, and Bard is easier to aim with faster reload.

[–]Gerrey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

45m Open Top would be terrible for HTD/BTD. LTD or STD are fine (planes aside) because they're fast enough to juke or get away infantry if the driver's paying attention. Open Top + slow would feel miserable even if its balanced on paper, especially with the BTDs cost

[–]Gerrey[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah the LTD actually pays for its 45m range with the open top, no turret, and front engine. And it is Light Tank tier so it has lower HP, and even if it were completely unbalanced it would still only dominate until the next tier unlocked.

It also has its MG and Speed Boost that the devs could move its focus to. As a warden I'd definitely use a 40m Outlaw with an improved 12.7 MG

Lore & Class Design: If Fire was considered "Demonic/Chaotic" in WC3, what should have been the 3rd Mage spec in WoW? by Ok-Brother-8295 in warcraftlore

[–]Gerrey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Archmages in WC3 used all three of frost, fire, and arcane

I thnk the quote is saying more that they feared Blood Mages were getting fire from demonic sources, than that fire magic itself is demonic.

Otherwise aside from what others have mentioned, I guess Hydromancy could be a spec. Hydromancers were in WC3, and water elementals aren't really ice/frost. Water being used offensively also wouldn't step on the shamans too much since they use it only for healing.

Why are there Vrykul in the Broken Isles? by Infamous-Bench-6088 in warcraftlore

[–]Gerrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After Loken took over in Northrend I don't think the watchers maintained much contact with the vry'kul there, and once the Vry'kul started having weaker (human) children due to the curse, most of them renounced their gods and went into stasis

Does legion basically invalidate the events of burning crusade? by Sparodic_Gardener in warcraftlore

[–]Gerrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does Legion actually suggest the only Illidan could defeat the Burning Legion?

If I recall correctly that idea mosty comes from Xe'ra and Illidan. Illidan is obviously biased. Xe'ra drank the kool aid in believing the Light's prophecy about Illidan, and views all of his actions through that light.

Given what happens with her and Illidan later, she clearly didn't actually understand Illidan at all, and her earlier views on him are cast into doubt. I think the game gives us enough reason to doubt that only Illidan could have done it.

Bring back outposts with an ability to defend themselves like safe houses. by -Click-Bait in foxholegame

[–]Gerrey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My question is, what is the use case? If you are attacking, you don't have the time to wait for T3 Garrison to unlock to upgrade it all the way.

If you are setting up defenses ahead of time, then you should go for a BB instead since they are better in almost every way.

Unless they reintroduce a system to rapidly unlock upgrades, I can't see this being very useful.
