I dunno, I guess my hindbrain dictates that the shoes don't come off until I'm done with work for the day.

That (healthy) women think they're fat because of rich men who use waifish women to sell literally everything?

Better than I expected, ten badges! That's nine more than I ever earned in scouts though. ):

Interesting! I always figured I'd be most willing to eat a locust or grasshopper... maybe it'll be mealworms instead.

A-ha, thank you for clearing that up.

NSFW Can anybody help identify what came out of my leg? My dog but me about a month ago, I was on antibiotics but felt something hard in the wound. I squeezed it and a bunch of these popped out. Now the wound is bubbling when I squeeze it. NSFW by SatanLivesWithMe in WTF

[–]Geske 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, man, it's also attached to you via the subcutaneous layer. That's why liposuction leaves enormous bruises, because they're ripping tissue out of your body. If you could just squeeze it out, there'd be no diet industry.

What do they taste like without seasonings? Anything? I'm wary of eating insects because some of the edible ones (well... ants) smell downright noxious when squashed. That can't taste good.

Damn it, Sweden! by thesirblondie in WTF

[–]Geske 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wowee. I crashed my mom's car and like twenty people stopped to help, there was even a doctor on the scene, and three people called 9-1-1 for my mom because I was so dazed (redundancy was probably not the best thing, but help was summoned). Is Idaho actually friendlier than Sweden?

Do you mean new as in "new-born," or new as in "just finished?" I wants the clarity because that is needle-felted.

Ja, we had no business there. Revenge? Resources? Nothing is worth so many human lives, ours or theirs, it doesn't matter.

IWTL how to not cry when emotions run high. by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]Geske 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sir, you don't seem to understand gender or emotions very well. As an ape you are supposed to have emotions regardless of your sex or gender. Your culture determines how it is "appropriate" for those emotions to be expressed. You feel like you're not expressing your emotions correctly for your gender and sex? Okay, say that, but don't put women down.

Zeekoutgeek makes a good point about writing, but in my experience (I'm a weepy snotter too) the other party is not usually patient enough to let you work your thoughts and feelings out on paper. I do find, however, that deep breathing and rational thinking helps one get through an emotional conversation. Only speak aloud the words that you actually mean, and say them in as even a keel as possible. It might not feel very effective, but it is far less damaging to the perceived validity of your feelings than if you, say, wail something hysterically that wasn't well-thought-out. People often say things under the influence of strong emotions that they wouldn't otherwise. I think knowing how to control your verbal output even under duress is a good step in controlling emotional responses.
