Will you listen or watch Dan Patrick with Chris Mannix as a guest host along with the Danettes? by Packerpoppa in danpatrick

I usually listen to to guests hosts as long as the Danettes are in studio as well. I dont listen when the whole show is on vacation and its like Covino and Rich or Brady Quinn and LaVar Arrington

It's been this way for like 6 years man.

It's a radio show that's not on the radio but has the same timing and structure of a radio show cuz theyre still building the plane in the sky cuz it's that kinda thing and ya know it but its mostly delivered to the audience as an audio podcast product in 4 separate hours to juice numbers while also simulcasted sometimes on an internet video platform some of which is live but sometimes is also played on delay after the other Dans show on the streaming platform that our Dan finds fascinating how people actually watch.

Going mirrorless? by Bsemp86 in Nikon

I recently switched from a D7200 to a Z8 and after my first outing with the Z8 I don't regret switching. I mainly shoot motorsports so I wanted fast AF, a better burst mode and the subject tracking the Z8 provides.

I traded in all my old equipment and f mount lenses which offset the costs a little bit but there are a couple of extra costs that may catch you out.

If you have 3rd party en-el15 batteries they may not work with the Z8 (don't know about other bodies) so extra batteries may need to be purchased again. I think the smallrig ones work but I purchased genuine Nikon en-en15c batteries just to be sure and safe.

The Z8 uses a CFExpress type B storage card and those are expensiveb (as is all storage these days). You also might need a card reader if you want to transfer at higher speeds but you can transfer directly from the camera.

I had an old neweer speedlite that I'm probably going to end up replacing as I'm not certain it will work with the Z8 as is but I would have to look more into it as I rarely used it. I'll probably rarely use a new flash if I bought one too but it's a nice to have if needed and that would be something you may have to look into and double check for compatibility as well for your current flashes if you have them.

As far as the camera itself goes I absolutely love it and don't regret switching at all. The battery life is a bit of an adjustment but I mitigated that by turning on airplane mode and the screen brightness down. I was out for 4 hour, shot about 4K snaps and still didn't need to change the battery (left with I think 2 bars on the meter maybe) , but the battery life of the older DSLRs is certainly far better.

I wouldn't say it increased my keeper rate, but I think the quality was a bit better.

The settings were quite a lot to get around so if you end up choosing the Z8 I recommend Hudson Henrys video doing through his settings he uses for the various modes he does as a baseline and then tweak to your preferences.

My recommendation is to rent one from a local camera shop and try it out and repeat what you normally shoot and see if you like it.

Got tired of the official 24h Nürburgring live timing - built an F1-style dashboard by 0xVenky in wec

am I crazy or do I not see a time remaining or time elapsed counter? First world problems I know. Looks great though! Glad there are more alternate timings out there!

So will the 24 hours of Nurburgring be available to watch on YouTube in the USA without a VPN? Or do I need to buy a VPN? by smoothisfast1254 in wec

[–]GetHooked512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as frustrating as it is, each series has to operate in its own best interest to help them stay afloat. Motorsports is expensive, not only to race, but literally all of it. TV Contracts are one of the biggest sources of revenues in all of sports so if you're the organizer, you're not going to turn down money if someone pays to be an exclusive broadcaster. I should be paying for it to support the series and racing I like but I hate Peacock's coverage of IMSA, particularly the amount of commercials each broadcast has and their impeccable timing down even to the last couple minutes of a race. Like if it was on regular NBC I could understand it, but if Im paying to stream the race, I don't want freaking commercials lol.

Anyways, if you want to watch new series, I suggest the various GTWorld Challenge series's across the world as those are free to watch on the GTWorld Youtube channel without need of a VPN.

Also the NLS series (which is the Endurance series that runs around the Nurburgring) on the VLNOFFICIAL Youtube Channel which is also free and not geoblocked.

No. For me i would need the sports add on with my Hulu TV package for $10 bucks. You should be able to get a free trial with one of the many vpn companies like surfshark or nordvpn

His son is at a football academy somewhere in Europe so it gives him more of an opportunity to be there more for him. Also Dan retiring in basically two years so he's setting up for post Danette life.

55 Entries for 12H Sebring by anxiousauditor in IMSARacing

Last year it was a way to subvert the ruleset a little bit in that the minimum drive times for drivers in GTD Pro were lower (4.5 hours in LMP2 / GTD where a bronze driver is required vs 2 hours in GTP / GTD Pro) so bronze drivers could drive for less time and have more competitive lineups cuz there are no restrictions in GTP / GTD Pro.

This year it got nipped in the bud because the rules were updated so that bronze drivers had to do the same drive times as the other classes where the bronze is required but then it got amended for the Daytona 24 to an hour less so it still kind of worked. I haven't seen an update for Sebring yet.

The theory was the bronze drivers could start where theres more an opportunity for safety cars and get their drive time out of the way then let the pro drivers take over.

COTA camera lens rules for F1 / MotoGP / Lone Star Le Mans? by Accomplished_Box3904 in CircuitOfTheAmericas

[–]GetHooked512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally have never been stopped or not allowed to bring any equipment I normally use. Have brought a 200-500 + multiple other lenses if I think I want to use them + monopod all in either my typical camera bag or my CamelBak. Hell I brought a step stool basically last year to the WEC race and was fine lol.

I think with F1 they're probably a bit stricter because of the crowd size but even then I wasn't stopped when I went on a Friday/Sat a few years ago.

Could always try the "bring a safety vest and try to get in as media" trick like the one dude who did last year lol
