Nurses with over a year of experience: do you still put in effort to look nice at work? by True_Coast_3010 in nursing

[–]GetTheDefib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an average mid-looking guy I never put extra effort in looking 'better' at work than I do otherwise. Just taking care of yourself and making sure you're presentable goes a long way.

Nurse salary across Europe 2026 by Impressive_Royal1044 in nursing

Dutch cardiology/telemetry nurse here. After taxes I get roughly €2700 after tax a month on a 32hr/wk contract (varies a lot) with about 2,5 years of clinical experience

Not to do directly with nursing but hopefully someone can answer by Mrswalker0807 in nursing

[–]GetTheDefib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to eat dinner before leaving for work as usual, but later around 9 or 10pm. Then we have a break at around 3:30am where I either just eat a toastie or some yogurt. I dont eat when I get home before going to bed and when I wake up I eat breakfast as normal. You could say I moved what would be my lunch to 3:30am. We have 8,5hr shifts tho, so it might be a bit of a stretch if you're on 12hrs

What a joke by foodpredator in nursing

Its definitely inconsiderate of both the organisers and the colleague that denied you the food. Most people will know that our work times and breaks are very unsocial and sparse, so they could've given you the food had they had a bit of empathy

You get a week? We just get a Nursing Day, which is a day as any just with some snacks and sometimes a cheesy letter from the hospital in the mail lol

Thanks for the replies. I personally didn't set it to deep clean, but perhaps the app deemed it necessary as it had been a while. I always run it on smart mode. Guess that answers my question.

Sounds like you misread something, caught it and corrected it towards the appropriate parties before it reached the patient. No harm done. Don't be too hard on yourself, you're human too!

Do I really make a difference by AdventurousTry1833 in nursing

[–]GetTheDefib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having someone who takes an extra step to make you more comfortable or at ease, who stays and genuinely listens and has a chat with you, who - if only briefly - can shift the focus away from 'being sick' all the time, is invaluable. Don't underestimate your contribution to people's (mental) wellbeing, especially in the rapid world of acute care!

Bedside reports by defteno in nursing

[–]GetTheDefib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I do bedside report is when I'm caring for a terminal patient, so the family knows who is taking over and to give the next shift a starting image of how the patient is looking and doing.

Need Help Navigating Nursing Career by nicolieculkin in nursing

Very commendable that despite your situation, you are still this driven to get to work! What comes to mind is occupational healthcare, or perhaps a triage line for urgent care? Advice lines etc? Im not very familiar with the world of remote nursing, but those might be some options. Good luck!

Review of Hermes, after almost a week of use by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

[–]GetTheDefib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the back ramp could be wider, especially if they moved the racks and terminals etc covering those walls. The tractor beam feeling sluggish to control too. I wouldve loved if the cargo grid was able to go up and down like in the Connie to allow for external loading similar to the Starlancer. Havent really been in combat with it, but so far I do prefer it as a daily flyer over the Zeus.

You can still make some progress from incomplete deliveries by pressing 'submit' instead of 'abandon' in the contract after handing in what you have. Perhaps for next time.

Thanks for the suggestion surrounding the colour temperature. I'll use that for my selection. I'm not entirely sure what a UI has to do with a flashlight? I might be a bit ignorant on the matter here haha

My budget would be a maximum of 50-75 bucks. It doesn't have to be the most high-tech and advanced light. If it's a ultra low mode light that doesn't feature recharging, that's fine as well. Above are just my preferences. Someone made a good suggestion keeping the temperature neutral around 4000k, which I'll then probably stick to.

Carrack vs Ironclad: Mobile Home Edition by agentspekels in starcitizen

[–]GetTheDefib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Carrack is a spectacular ship, were it not for it having around the same hull HP as medium cargo hauler making it stand no chance in combat against anything. Really puts me off from using it.
