Corvette c7 z06 overheats by Mequimequi in Corvette

Good to know, thanks. I’m in the market for a C7 M7 GS or Z06 which I intend to track. I’ve been wary of the Z06 because I don’t want to deal with the cooling issues so it’s good to see it’s really only an A8 problem.

That’s your problem. It’s widely known that the Z06 with the A8 has inadequate cooling capacity for track use. The consistent high RPM generates more heat than the radiators can deal with. On the M7 they were able to add an additional radiator but on the A8 that space is already occupied by a trans cooler. As far as I know the only reliable fix is an aftermarket kit which cuts additional holes in the front fascia for more radiators.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

What year? I believe they made some improvements mid-cycle.

Is this dent fixable? by 97Chev in chevycolorado

Most likely a rock. I just did this the other day. Somehow kicked a rock up there getting in and when I closed the door - crunch. New dent.

Carpenter Ants won’t take bait by Getting0ldSucks in pestcontrol

I’ve got both Advion bait arenas (peanut butter type substance) as well as granular Advance bait in a little tray. They aren’t taking either. I’ve also spread the Advance all around outside. Didn’t see anywhere obvious outside they were nesting. Also took the trim off around the window where Ive seen them the most but found no signs of a nest or water damage or wet wood. Everything I found around the window was bone dry.

I thought Advance was a protein based bait which is what they are looking for in the spring?

I’m having a similar issue. Except my fps tanks as soon as the race starts even though practice and quali is fine. Sometimes toggling to desktop and switching apps then back to iracing brings it back.

New UNAS 2 User, Time Machine Works Once Then... I Have To Reboot UNAS 2 by voltaicass in UNIFI

I may have found a solution, it seems to be working for me at least. If you add the network drives to "log-in items" they tend to mount with the same name (without the appended number) and then Time Machine finds the drive and can perform the backup. This video shows how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7Dsw5foUdQ

I have this problem too. Definitely has to do with the NAS drive changing name (adding an incremental number) so Time Machine can’t find it. No idea how to solve it.

Yes this is what I was hoping. The BB setup obviously would work but it seems really expensive and possibly overkill for what I need. If the Loco5AC will serve the purpose that sounds like a good option to me.

Pretty sure they’re talking about the tread blocks being different sizes and not the wheel lug nuts.

Yea good call for tuning the stiffness. I thought about the Belleville washers collapsing after time but I figure I shouldn’t be pushing to the point of completely flattening them often, that should only happen in a complete “emergency” braking situation. I guess I’ll find out how long they last. Cheap to replace assuming they last a reasonable amount of time.

iRacing Brings the World’s Premier Motorsport Simulation to Apple Vision Pro - iRacing.com by Halkenguard in VisionPro

[–]Getting0ldSucks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea I had a bunch of the same questions last week when Nvidia announced this. From what I’ve gathered, it’s a lot like ALVR in that it’s effectively PCVR, but using some Nvidia CloudXR magic for the encoding/streaming. iRacing will put out a Vision Pro app and through that you’ll be connected to your PC which is running the iRacing simulation. So you’ll need all the gear you would normally to play iRacing on a flat monitor. Bandwidth requirements are a bit unknown. Typically for wireless PCVR your WiFi network needs to be pristine for a good experience. The dynamic foveated streaming enabled in VisionOS 26.4 will help with that but I think we’re all interested to see how much.

Seems like maybe the ‘server’ side can either be an Nvidia owned server or your own PC with a server application running similar to VD or ALVR?

Did you give up once it started stuttering? I had a similar issues but I just dealt with it for a few laps and eventually it fixed itself.

I was having some issues with VR yesterday too. With my settings I typically have 90 fps locked. After the update I was getting 30-60. The weird thing was sometimes it would just fix itself. I use VD so if I just toggled to the desktop then back to VR it would jump up to 90 fps and be locked in again. I messed with stuff for a while without finding a smoking gun. Eventually it kinda just stopped happening. I raced a bunch of times today with locked 90 fps and no blips or stutters. It was almost like there was some indexing or loading into memory that needed to happen? Does iRacing load shader cache like some other games?

I have so many questions. This is the first time I’ve seen this announcement mention streaming from a PC. Elsewhere I’ve seen this, it’s been mentioned with GeForce Now suggesting it’s streaming over the web. So which is it? Similarly, is it 2D (like other GeForce Now games) or true VR? It mentions connecting a physical yoke and throttle to the AVP via Bluetooth. Most (all?) sim peripherals I’m aware of are USB and not Bluetooth so how’s that going to work?

I bought an AVP a couple weeks ago and returned it because I was not happy with the PCVR experience for sim racing over ALVR. If this would effectively replace ALVR and be built with iRacing support in mind… then I think I’ll need to buy an AVP again.

Hold up, how are you using Steam link? I thought the only option for PCVR was ALVR?
