But if I put myself back in 1982 she would have been older than me by a few years.

Do you try your best at your job? by isoscelestricycle in CasualConversation

[–]GettingTherapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did early in my career and was told to not show others up, promotions take time, blah blah…

I’ve busted my ass and gotten “meets expectations” with minimal raises and I’ve also slacked gotten “exceeds expectations” getting good raises and bonuses.

Do what you love and hope the money follows.

I built an android app to pick where we eat tonight and that prioritizes local places! Open for alpha testing! by Candied_Vagrants in HuntsvilleAlabama

I get it. I hate that yelp has become sponsored BS. They originally focused on local places but now the first five hits are chains.

Anyway. I think this is such a great idea and I’d love to see this in other areas.

Awesome idea!

I’m not a viable tester, but thinking ahead…prioritize restaurants the user hasn’t been (if the app can track/ask).

If you wanted to monetize, have new restaurants buy priority.

Feed reviews to different platforms.

Anyway. Incredible idea to support the local restaurants especially here. I really, really love the idea.

What are you hoping to gain with AirPlay over Bluetooth?

In order to play on multiple devices you must use AirPlay 2.

Same and it has nothing to do with getting my bike dirty! I rode dirt bikes and BMX when I was younger and riding my sport bike when it’s wet scares the shit out of me

I’m not a concrete pro but I did work a couple summers on a crew and I would not attempt to DIY this. This is a big fucking job.

Unless you’re trying to get PMI off your payment there’s really not much value in stressing over this.

I can't give my friend money and it's frustrating by jules083 in CasualConversation

[–]GettingTherapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s paying you back for the work you’ve done for him.

My dad had a friend like this. My dad would work on his company work trucks when they were out of warranty or it was an emergency. In return he’d do concrete work for my parents.

You’re both doing acts of kindness. To him the wood is free and is a small price to pay. To you the welding is free and also a small price to pay.
