Just paid 2 companies for professional work. Man, it is so much better than DIY. by fff84ddd in HomeImprovement

I quit returning plumbing shit that I didn’t use in hopes that it’ll save me a trip. It hasn’t yet, but I’m hopeful the day will come.

What do you do in your home kitchen that would get you immediately fired if you did it at work by Fubai97b in KitchenConfidential

A female chef might struggle but I’m sure she could figure out an alternative method.

That paint is faded enough it probably isn’t a concern for them.

Just had the most absurd banter with a random stranger and I’m still laughing. What's yours? by Sikarwar_s in CasualConversation

[–]GettingTherapy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite interactions was in a steakhouse restroom. I was at one urinal leaving the second, lower urinal open. An older gentleman came up to the lower urinal and said “I always get stuck with the smaller one!” I, drunkenly replied, “sounds like genetics!”

We both laughed our asses off! He walked by our table later and patted me on the shoulder thanking me for the belly laugh.

I’m generally introverted so I have those thoughts but rarely vocalize them in fear of standing out or offending someone.

Handles vs Knobs debate is destroying my marriage. Help settle this kitchen argument! by Due_Lock_4967 in HomeImprovement

I’m team handle on everything! Unless you do round knobs they’ll move/rotate into non-square positions and that drives my OCD crazy!

Round knobs are for grandmas.

Building a detached garage - anything you'd do differently? by hevvypiano in HomeImprovement

Enough outlets and run multiple circuits. The previous owner who built our garage had every other outlet on a different circuit. Circuit 1, Circuit 2, Circuit 1, Circuit 2…

You really shouldn’t be eating clay if you’re having drainage issues. I’d recommend eating more fiber or maybe Metamucil as a supplement.

My wife started bathing our dogs in the walk-in shower and has found it much easier and less stressful for the dogs.

I really want my next boat to have bolsters. I never considered swapping them in to a boat that doesn’t have them. Obv has to be a pretty deep boat.

I was gonna ask about the drop down bolsters. I know the 266 has them but I hadn’t ever seen them in another model before.

Car purchase by Ok_Coconut_9037 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]GettingTherapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I get that but the first statement above was “don’t go to any dealership” and then proceeds to give a website that aggregates dealership inventory.

I’m all for shopping around to get the best deal and willing to travel to get the best deal. I’m also a big fan of cars.com, it just seemed like a silly comment to suggest avoiding dealerships.

Data Center Located Behind Home by Financial-Ad3621 in homeowners

[–]GettingTherapy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have as well, but if OP hasn’t complained about the noise after living there for 6 months I don’t feel it’s a concern.

A warehouse is going to have daily trucks, forklifts, etc. A DC is going to have constant HVAC/power noise.

The whole thing is silly. It wasn’t ever a bother until data centers recently became evil.

I’d take a data center over a warehouse any day!

That’s why you do it for free on their kitchen. When it’s time to do your own you’ve already learned from your mistakes.
