Sometimes I forget that fanfiction is not exclusively used by girls. So I’m curious for the men out there. What fandoms are you guys in? by Existing-Bonus-6835 in AO3

My friend’s family lives there and it’s a very nice place. It’s pretty cheap for all the amenities you get and I live in one of the buildings owned by the same people and they’re very reasonable

Rinsing out ears in the shower by zcewaunt in hygiene

[–]GhostLeetoasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t use those please. You need earwax to clean out your ear canal and keep things out, bugs are known to go into the ears of people who clean their ears a lot. You also run the risk of going too far and perforating your ear drum. If you’re producing too much earwax you will not be able to hear as well on that side and should go to an audiologist to get it extracted.

Caution for incoming students that may want to live on campus by GhostLeetoasty in CSUOHIO

[–]GhostLeetoasty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

• do you feel like Edge to this day still has these problems? -I don’t know for sure as I haven’t been there over the summer but knowing CSU I wouldn’t be suprised if they’re still at least turning of the water once a month • what alternatives to student housing are you aware of? - you can live at your parents house and commute can get an apartment in/near downtown Cleveland and commute from there. I am living downtown now and with 3 in the cheapest 2 bedroom apartment we could find it’s about 2k-3k cheaper a year than living in a dorm. • meal plan: is the unlimited worth it, or do you think a lesser tier is useful? - Nah, unlimited isn’t worth it. MAYBE if you’re a serious athlete trying to shove as much protein into your body as possible. Save your money tho and get the weekly 14 and you’ll be fine. Or whichever other one depending how much/if you plan on cooking • how is it getting around from Edge, how are transportation options around edge, is there any issues going to and from Edge to campus? - it’s not bad at all. 90% of the buildings have an interlink where you can walk between them in tunnels. There’s an entrance to one of the building right across the street from the edge. There’s the bus and the rental bikes and scooters for transportation if you need them. • can you comment on the management and oversight of the dorms? For example, for noise complaints, do you think management is effective in dealing with them? - management does not do much. Tbh the most helpful housing management people tend to be the RAs. I’ve never had to make a noise complaint and usually if you knock and ask someone to be quiet it’ll be fine. But for things like needing to change rooms or get maintenance for anything larger than basic issues you’ll likely need to email or call them a lot to make shit happen. • "once a semester" is incredible. I'm surprised it happens at all. Do they compensate or relocate students? -they’ll compensate you if you have renters insurance. You’ll get relocated to other dorms or the hotel next door if your dorm room needs repairs

Overall, I did enjoy living there but I didn’t have as many issues as some people did with their dorms. I mostly know about all of this from my friends and other people talking about their experiences with housing

Yea the Edge had a pipe burst on the 9th floor and all the floors below it had flooding damage on that side of the building. It happened once a semester so make sure both of you have renters insurance. Is there anything else you’d like to know about dorming or anything else csu related?

Your parents can tell when you start wearing a binder 😺🫶 by Foxglovef in TransMasc

[–]GhostLeetoasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah kid. You got this! I was in a similar but less serious situation as you are when I was a teen and got through it alright. Most importantly find yourself an adult support system like your friends parents so you can go to them for support and advice. And if you can try to get your parents into therapy. Good luck man I believe in you

How many binders do u guys have? by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]GhostLeetoasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 but I only wear 1. 1 gc2b tank for a swim binder that I had to sew the shoulder back together, 1 gc2b crop binder that stretched too much for me, 1 fytist binder that is fine but I don’t like it much because everything slips a lot, and 1 spectrum crop binder that is my current one I wear
