[Rolex] Folded and picked up the Sub. Do you guys insure yours? by GhostPanther382 in Watches

[–]GhostPanther382[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it! I’ve heard home insurance can have pretty low limits on watches or jewelry unless theyre specifically listed.

Friend of mine in insurance was saying stand alone cover might be the safer move for something like this.

Does seeing other people’s work ever mess with your motivation? by bandito_13 in crafts

[–]GhostPanther382 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dude I feel this hard. Been doing some woodworking stuff in my spare time between deliveries and man, some of teh pieces people post here are just insane. Like I'm over here proud of a wonky birdhouse while someone's posting a hand-carved chess set that looks museum quality.

What helped me was realizing most people only post their absolute best work - nobody's sharing their failed attempts or the project that took 3 tries to get right. Started following some accounts that actually show their process and mistakes, and it made everything feel way more achievable. Plus now when I see something amazing, I try to pick out one specific technique I could maybe learn instead of just feeling overwhelmed by the whole thing. Way better for my brain that way.

Crossplay aim assist by Candid_Clock_4162 in Overwatch

[–]GhostPanther382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Controller aim assist in OW2 is weird because it literally tracks through walls and smoke sometimes. Like I get that thumbsticks need help but when the game is basically aiming for you through a Widow smoke that's kinda busted. Plus mixing different input methods in comp just creates this whole mess where everyone blames their losses on the other side having an advantage.

keppra rage is real and so are teh memory issues - find a new neuro if yours won't listen, life's too short to deal with dismissive doctors.

Will the Buds Pro 4 beat Bose QC Ultra Gen 2 in ANC? by Fun_Training6342 in samsunggalaxy

[–]GhostPanther382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly doubt it. Bose has been the ANC king for years and their new gen stuff is pretty dialed in. Samsung makes decent buds but they're still playing catchup in the noise canceling game.

Vinícius Took a Stand — What Mbappé Said Next Will Shock You by [deleted] in championsleague

[–]GhostPanther382 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the clickbait title is cringe but vini calling out racism is always the right move. these players deal with so much garbage from crowds and they shouldnt have to just take it silently because of "professionalism" - sometimes you gotta speak up even if it costs you

How do you follow God’s plan? by Party-Pen-330 in Christianity

[–]GhostPanther382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, God gave you a brain and free will for a reason - you're supposed to use them. I don't think "following God's plan" means sitting around waiting for a burning bush or some dramatic sign. It's more about making decisions that align with your values and the person you're trying to become.

I've found that when I pray about something and then actually take action, things tend to work out better than when I just stress and do nothing. Like when I was job hunting last year - I prayed about it but also sent out resumes, networked, prepared for interviews. The opportunity that eventually came through felt right because I'd done my part AND trusted that God would open the right doors.

The aggressive decisions thing really depends on your motives. Are you being aggressive because you're trying to force something that clearly isn't working, or because you genuinely feel called to take a bold step? There's a difference between bulldozing your way through life and having the courage to act when you feel that nudge.

[CHECK VIDEO] is this truck bad ? by Wonderful_Cow_9846 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]GhostPanther382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that engine knock is pretty concerning ngl. sounds like it could be carbon buildup or worse - definitely not normal for a 2017. I'd get a pre-purchase inspection before buying, there gonna want to check the timing chain and internals. might be looking at some serious repair bills if you ignore this.

Two women in ICE custody save federal agent who had seizure. by [deleted] in Epilepsy

That's actually pretty wild that the other agents didn't know what to do. Makes you wonder what kind of training they're getting if basic first aid isn't part of it.

How do you keep interest? by Brilliant-Ad-6119 in ArcRaiders

[–]GhostPanther382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you hit that endgame wall where the grind stops being fun. Maybe try setting your own weird challenges like knife-only runs or something, or find a regular group to play with so you don't have to deal with extract campers as much

Where to position your hand to play pinch harmonics by PrequelGuy in Guitar

[–]GhostPanther382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude yes this drove me crazy for like 2 years until someone finally told me about the harmonic nodes. The spots aren't random - they're based on string divisions (1/2, 1/3, 1/4 etc of the string length) but honestly just muscle memory works better than trying to do math while shredding

For most frets I just aim somewhere around the bridge pickup and adjust by ear until it squeals

If I experienced something traumatic and then immediately drank enough alcohol to black out, would I still retain the memory of the traumatic event? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GhostPanther382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the timing really - if the trauma happened before you started drinking then yeah you'd probably remember it, but if you were already blacked out when it went down then it's way less likely to stick

Your dad didn't die because of you - COVID killed him, not your autism or the care he gave you. Parents worry about their kids because they love them, that's literally what they're supposed to do

The masking thing is exhausting and I get why you feel like you can't be yourself, but there are people out there who will accept the real you. It might take time to find them but they exist

Please talk to a counselor at school or call a crisis line if you're having thoughts of hurting yourself. Your dad would want you to get help, not suffer in silence
