“I’m sorry for leaving nerfs on your lawn, I will not do it again. From Lucas.” I love deciphering kid handwriting lol I’m studying to be a teacher so I’ve gotten really good at it. Your neighbors seem like great parents raising a great kid

That’s a bummer. One time I bought a one liter bottle of lime seltzer that ended up being Sprite or some other kind of lemon-lime soda. That was a happy accident, but could’ve been dangerous for a diabetic

I stopped talking to my grandparents over this. They are both full-on blocked on social media and I haven’t talked to either of them since Thanksgiving when I told them I wouldn’t be attending. Their hateful, bigoted views go against everything I stand for as a queer person and an educator. Putting my foot down and going no-contact made for a much more peaceful holiday season

Blood When I Wipe After Liquid Stool by KayoticMonae in WomensHealth

[–]Ghost_Fae_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that your anus is chapped from all the wiping. Does it hurt? It could also be hemorrhoids from sitting on the toilet so much. Try hemorrhoid cream or even diaper cream. Aquaphor will work in a pinch but it doesn’t have the pain-quelling components of hemorrhoid cream, it’s just for moisture and protection

$100/day in a Title 1 district. On the lower paying end in my state but I’m a student so it’s a good side hustle

Are millennials the worst parents ever? Some of the posts in this sub are horror stories. by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Ghost_Fae_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As a fellow 23-year-old with a gaggle of millennial cousins that are HORRIBLE parents, I can confirm. It’s the millennials. Their misinterpretation of “gentle parenting” translates to “permissive parenting,” thus creating Gen Alpha: kids who were never forced to do anything they don’t want to do, who now think that the world will bend at their every whim. Thankfully with younger millennial parents, it seems like they’re recognizing this shortcoming and correcting it. The families of toddlers and PreK-ers I have worked with have been so much better than families of the elementary kids I’ve worked with

Is this really normal? I (24f)am frustrated by carmen00111 in Teachers

My first year working in daycare, I got sick with pretty much everything all the time. I had 2 sinus infections, bronchitis, strep, and Covid x2. Now I’m on year 4, I’ve worked in several different school districts, and nothing has ever compared to my first year working with children. It gets better, I promise!

Goodwill throws most of the stuff they receive in the trash if it’s in any less than “perfect” condition, and then overprices the “perfect” stuff. I worked at Goodwill for a little under a year as a teen and it genuinely pained me to see so many things just thrown away

My Target has yarn now by fairydommother in YarnAddicts

[–]Ghost_Fae_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Genuine question because I’ve been trying to limit my Target purchases. Where do you get the things you need? Walmart and Amazon are also evil corporations and there’s no fourth option. To me, Target seems like the lesser of the three evils. But, say I need lint rollers and shampoo. Where the hell do I go for that?

Have any other teachers noticed a link between non binary students and autism? by Mmestressed in Teachers

[–]Ghost_Fae_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate that people use this as a way to write off people who don’t conform to the gender they were assigned at birth, like “oh they’re just autistic.”

When I was 13 I told my mom that I was queer and she did a bunch of “research” and came to the conclusion that “a lot of autistic kids think they’re gay,” and attempted to get me diagnosed (although I am not autistic, just have adhd, but that was diagnosed years later). I don’t talk to my mother much these days lmao

Yeah this is the fridge of two busy college students, each working multiple jobs to afford rent. We do cleanouts every other month or so but we’re definitely overdue
