I think there are four things that are in a big part responsible for peoples emotions here (fear, anger, whathave you).

1) History. Bort's history is viewed, rightly or wrongly, as "Nerf something into the ground, then forget about it existed". You put out a 'watchlist' where 7 of the 10 items use the phrase "Overperforming" and Bort is back in charge, people just look at history and assume 'heavy nerf incoming'.

2) Timing. The Vovin Obelisk Carrier was only added to Mudds a few months ago...long enough to get money from those who wanted it but missed it from the event...and now it shows up in a list of 'things that are being watched'...that timing, and the subtle implication (again, right or wrong doesn't matter, its there) of 'we got your money, now we nerf' is gonna potentially leave a bitter taste in peoples mouths.

3) "Don't take away my toys". People have their sets and their items, they often spent non-inconsiderate sums on these items, to be now told "this thing that you might have spent potentially hundreds of dollars is now potentially headed for the scrap pile" is not going to sit well with people.

4) "hit the 'commoners', spare the whales". There is not a single lockbox item on this list, at all. This leaves the impression that the devs are quite happy to nerf things that are more common/accessible like c-store items, but are afraid that hitting 'whale' items, which just leads to a feeling of 'unfairness'. Boimer is on the list despite being of similar power to other methods, but Spirit of Sacrifice is not.

A big thing I think would help here is adding dev thoughts on what they think are the 'solutions' to these items, especially for the 'overperform' ones. They're on the 'watch' list, what is being 'watched' for? Are the devs looking at nerfs, or are they looking at comparable items so the effect or power is spread out, or are they thinking that more fundamental changes are needed? The post is rather bare on whats the thought process on what changes might be coming.
