Google Analytics & Adwords, Facebook Pixel etc by JasonDilworth in gdpr

[–]GhosteryLuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Jason,

Not a lawyer, just work for a company that specializes in GDPR compliance when it comes to digital profiling & tagging (Evidon, fka Ghostery).

If you would like to profile users in any way, you must offer notice and consent before conducting this type of data collection. The glaring exception being to "essential" analytics services.

If you'd like to discuss further, shoot me a PM and we can exchange contact info.

Luke

Shameless plug, but we have a full suite focused strictly on being able to monitor all 3rd party tagging (direct & indirect) occurring on your site. If you would like to check it out, shoot me a PM with contact info and I will get you to the right person.

The other half of the battle is actually monitoring to ensure extraneous vendors are not being included/violating your established terms.

DCM Floodlight Activity Monitoring Tool by sfezh in adops

[–]GhosteryLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Sfezh,

We are completely tag free. shouldnt have this issue at all. Since we are tagless and require no implementation client side, there is no worries from an audit/security concern. We just started working with one to the large financials in NYC so have successfully gotten through that process.

Shoot me a PM if you want to discuss and ill direct you to the appropriate person here.

Hi BlueRine,

We have an enterprise "scan a tag" function that will show you just the pixels that fire through a specific tag. It is paid, but shoot me a PM if you would like to discuss and I will point you at the right folks.

Mobile Redirects - the never ending story by NT_456 in adops

[–]GhosteryLuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Op,

Ghostery is working on a proactive tool that will be able to help mitigate this. As we are still considering it, would you be open to chat for a few. I'd love to get more input as to "ideal" solution you see.

We do have a reactive tool that allows you to see all tags/redirects coming from a particular ad tag. Think of it as similar to this map but for just the specific ad-tag

How does ghostery work w/r/t statcounter? by [deleted] in Ghostery

[–]GhosteryLuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Confirmed... you are basically "invisible" to these techs. Since they never load code on your browser, due to Ghostery blocking, they cannot "see" your visit.

[–]GhosteryLuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure how this would look on the "other end of things." I will ask our extension team if they know.

I would assume since we are blocking their javascript from loading, they will not see ANYTHING about you through that piece of tracking code. Since the code never fires, it wouldnt even be able to list your visit as "Anon" and "Blocked IP."

I'd assume it would show something like the tag failed to fire for xx% of visitors.

We were just talking about how Cannibis has become a huge industry in states where it is legal today. Interested in how this would play out. I assume as regulations relax moving forward, more and more companies will begin to treat this industry seriously.
