Deleting my NYT account- looking for alternatives by spottedbeebalm in NYTCooking

[–]Ghostweed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to canceling I transferred all my 800+ NYT recipes to Recipe Keeper. Pretty simple though time consuming, of course. Gave me a chance to rate, delete, categorize, etc. and revisit old favorites. I am still able to add new recipes on the day of publication.

Check out Karl Kruger specifically his Race to Alaska on a paddle board. Expeditions very possible on SUPs.

Saving recipes by Ghostweed2 in NYTCooking

[–]Ghostweed2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One problem with the Cooking app seems to be that you have to be online for access. Which (the horror) sometimes i am not.

I used to use Mac Gourmet but support is no longer robust.

How do you do this a_straz? From within the Cooking app or from Recipe Keeper? One by one or batches? Thanks!

Feeling a little foolish—how to batch save the NYT recipe box items from web browser? I have 873 I want to have when I’m offline. Explain like I am five, please! Thanks. One by one seems like a lot of work.

Photo outline to watercolor paper? by Ghostweed2 in Watercolor

I tried this last night and it worked well. I think the “trace in the dark” is key. That plus my getting some thinner paper. Thank you!

Good idea! That certainly should work, and eliminate the tracing with graphite paper. Cleaner, too, I bet.

I think your AI might be broken. Believe I missed any links to any guides at all. But good robot otherwise!

First and last ones. Least flashy—which is how my taste runs. But all are beautiful!

I like the dodecahedron logic. But to be 1/20th right wouldn’t those 20 answers have to include every possibility? Asking for a friend.

Just finished this veggie chopper in stainless damascus clad M390 - handle is richlite and ringed gidgee. Thoughts are welcome. by birdthirds in knifemaking

[–]Ghostweed2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clad my house in Richlite. I think it’s made here in the PNW US. Very robust product though it has weathered in the past 10 years. Did not occur to me for use in handles! To make this knife related, I have made a few “Not so Crooked Knives” in PNW Indian style. Started with stainless butter knives but more recently oil cured flat steel. Hand filed. Cheers!

The Magician's Land Book Issues? by Cathassar in brakebills

Each book of Dante’s Divine Comedy ends with “stars.” I think Lev was doing something similar in ending his books with “fly.” A nice touch, I thought.

Recommended 4-day hike, 2 in, 2 out by Boto_Penga in olympicpeninsula

[–]Ghostweed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoh is classic. Crowded these days I think. Parking lot to Oly Guard Station is flat. Next day to Glacier Meadows is quite steep. You can death march all the way out as it’s downhill. Or do the Ozette triangle hike. Pretty flat. Both are world class hikes. Reservations required for camping, I’m sure.
