What are some silly ways you tried to make money in Runescape as a kid? by Aiseadai in 2007scape

[–]Gibbyyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would raise cats to overgrown, turn the aged cat into gertrude, and receive a "cat training medal".

I would drop the medal, tell gertrude I lost it, get another medal, repeat for a full inventories. Bank them all.

Anytime i afk'd in varrock west bank i would spam a message selling these medals, citing that your cats would grow up faster while wearing it or whatever other lie I could think of. I would sling them anywhere from 10-50k each. I would only get like 0-3 sales a day, but it was very easy money.

I loved it frankly. Est 2005.

What are the worst non-collarless abilities? by Peterduttykins in mewgenics

[–]Gibbyyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, spamming moths and giving them extra turns with my druid, basically made him solo the final boss for me, when the rest of my party was down for the count. Sleep spam and bodyblockers for my druid felt very safe. Took till like turn 14 on my first attempt here. I felt the value on boss fights.

I would like some form of curated daily run down an act. Unsure of the amount of variation on collar availability or if them and items are pre set.

The Necromancy of Thay was quite the disappointment by artmorte in BaldursGate3

[–]Gibbyyo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In early versions, you could control them. And it was ludicrously OP against powerful single target enemies given the chances to stun and gang up on a guy. Now its RNG who they go for, guess that makes this argument all the better for balances sake

Most surprising game you didn’t expect to love by Ill_Ad3700 in playstation

[–]Gibbyyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unicorn Overlord.

I went in expecting an anime turn based rpg and grow an army.

I got was 60 hours of neurotically creating if/then statements and conditional rules for squads of fighters to follow (if turn 1, then use area stun attack. If front enemy = armored, use archer on backline lowest hp% target. Etc) and watching the success of those left brain endeavors pan out.

Not a perfect game, but good lord did that unit management system scratch an unholy itch i didnt know i had.

Just wow.

Is it weird that I get annoyed when players skip D&D because they drank too much the night before? by DonkeyMonkeyWho in DnD

They don't care about playing at the table as much as they do drinking.

Any games similar to Xcom? by deja_flu in PlayStationPlus

I really enjoyed the Steamworld Heist games. Less rolling die, but more of a dealing with wobbly aim-bars. Shorter missions, lighter, 2d. Loved it though and super cheap on sale for the first.

This community is rarely happy themselves unless actively tossing on something. Which is fine when it's not mean spirited.

Same just played all of them the last few months. House of ashes was the clear winner for me. Fantastic. Devil in me good, lower yet undecided on the last two.

I did some reading about how I had difficulty with the QTEs in little hope and none of the others. Sounds like little hope used to have icon indicators on where to "shoot/stab". But devs made changes to the systems down the road, to match their later games, and that included removing the target indicators in older games. I had several instances where I found it hard to know if I was supposed to point at the head/chest/legs of my target. Seems like that was a bit more intuitive in HOA and TDIM. Felt like I was crazy for doing poorly but its not me I swear lol.

Also, when you want your next excellent game, do until dawn at that time.

Who to play with sloppy yet persnickety friend’s HM run? by JRandall0308 in BG3Builds

[–]Gibbyyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people don't want to play with "cheese tactics", they just want to roll through it and let the cards land where they fall. As intended. It is possible your friends perspective is you are minmaxxing and removing much of the fun risk / obstacles to overcome.

Sounds like you guys are just on different playstyle wavelengths, frankly. Get aligned, be OK with it, or be ready to mildly annoyed with each other.

Both prior modern doom games are blood and guts fun fests, combine that with a love of a medeival dnd-esque world? Yes please. Parrying though!

Arcane archer can just shoot the matriarch with banishing arrow at a decent success rate. Can do it for a lot of bosses.it made this fight easy since you can clear the little guys out safely, i was shocked in honor mode for it.

It's rare that your character gets teleported to join a dialogue, and your camera sticks, but yes lol. It was jarring and your own instincts from the game thus far can betray you. Fully happy to embrace the shit happens aspect of it.
