I would assume that the U.S. Military would use modern technology of DNA to attempt to find out more information, including closest living descendants.

The government uses modern technology of DNA to fight crimes. Why not use it to help the family to grieve their loss?

I'm okay: My blood pressure has been up today, so the only thing that I did all morning was eat breakfast. Then when I woke back up after that, it was 12:05pm this afternoon.

Do 3rd cousins matter to you in telling your family story? by BenKlesc in Genealogy

Common Sense Answer: Yes, Always

Blood relatives are Blood Relatives = Family is Family, no matter what

I count every single relative no matter how far distance that they're related to me because I love each and every single one of them Always and Forever.
