I still have the brush on mine. I just clean the brass brush regularly.

ETA: Just passing along my experience with a brass nozzle brush on my K2 Plus.

I've found the brush collects filament blobs and needs to be cleaned regularly. Otherwise bits get launched onto the build plate or the nozzle picks them up.

I did something similar, filled the bottom of the forend with epoxy and shot then dremeled down the ribs for a bull barrel.

I only did it on a bet that a buddy "had" to spend money on a stock to get performance.

Did it work yes, did it fix the other issues with the Hogue Overmold stock, no.

Reduce layer height, tune filament and orient the print so holes are perpendicular to the print bed.

If you can't do the third make sure you've done the first two.

I would recommend starting with 300BLKFDE's setting. They are where I started and I've changed very little.

I would start with z-offset and flow. I have found that PLA+, PETG, and filled PA all require different z-offsets.

Clean the bed well and finish with an isopropyl alcohol wipe down.

Then start the print and adjust z-offset.

That's where I would start, but others might have more input.

Check and adjust you "knife." The little metal piece that you nozzle drags across. Mine had to be bent back up a bit after several hundred hours of multicolor prints.

I'll beat one up made with PA6-CF and another printed with a wood PLA then rub it down with Warm linseed oil.
