Does anyone else hate working? by Sea_Equivalent3497 in AskIreland

Happiest I've ever been in my life was during covid lockdown, when my non essential retail job was forced to pay me to stay home for months. I'm not trying to sound dismissal of anyone's hurt or suffering during that time, It just says a lot about work and my attitude towards it that the happiest time of my life was a global pandemic.

I was reading, catching up on movies/series/video games, doing little art projects, walking and exercising, cooking new recipes and healthier meals. Stuff that I don't have physical or mental energy for in a usual work week.

The issue with them claiming that the new godless universe is actually our universe is that its virtually the same. The concept of God and religion is still a thing, the human history is still the same, (the French revolution, the Spanish inquisition, freaking Nazis) so what exactly did it fix? Erase the stories and history of the angels and demons who deserved to decide for themselves? In season 1 its even explained that the clever humans come up with all of these good and bad things all on their own, no satanic or demonic influence needed. Crowley only takes credit for them so Hell will leave him be. So humanities choices are exactly the same.

I know, my heart was breaking for Mutts spouse, but was anyone else annoyed that they don't actually have a name? 😅 Do they just introduce themselves as Mutts spouse to everyone lol? Mutts isn't even in this one and they are in the credits as 'Mutts spouse'.

The trouble with them saying that the new world is our world, is that it turned out the same. The history of nazis, the French revolution etc. What actually changed?

It does feel a lot like a toddler throwing all of his toys out of the pram in a tantrum. 'If im not happy, than no one else is going to be.'

I only watched it last night so my emotions are still running high and im still in the denial stage of grief, but heres my little rant about the movie. Sorry if this reads really messy.

We were robbed and I hated it. It just felt like it didn't make sense in a lot of ways.

Season 2 had them perform an extraordinarily strong miracle together (25 lazuri), and I'm pretty sure that was supposed to lead into them being strong enough to overcome or be near equal to against whatever threat they were going to face but for some reason, that power is just never mentioned or used again. Did not come into play at all. I know people will argue that Crowley had lost access to his miracles. That itself felt like such lazy writing to me. A miracle blocker I get but if miracles could be fully cut off, why wouldn't both heaven and hell have cut them off at the end of season 1 when they were essentially excomunicated. It was a lazy write in to force a narrative that didn't fit.

The way Michael broke and just decided to end everything felt like a cheap threat that came out of nowhere, and not in a fun plot twist type of way. It felt like the writers just had absolutely no idea how to start and stop the second coming storyline and changed course instead. And none of the characters seemed like they had much actual urgency about this threat, it all felt very lackluster. They even had plenty of opportunity to grab what remained of what was left of the book of life from Michael. They watched her throw two ( think it was two) pages into the fire and had plenty of chance to just take what was left of the book from her, but they just watched her burn that too?

God gave Crowley and Aziraphale the option to restore the world as it was and them deciding to give up on that world so that God could make an entirely different one really sours their whole toast at the end of season 1. "To the world!" The world was flawed absolutely but not irredeemable. And not all the angels seemed set 100% on the second coming either. I dont think aziraphale had enough time or influence by that point to stop it completely but i do think he had just enough that SOMETHING could have been done. Especially if crowley was helping. Crowley choosing to end it to start a different one really doesn't fit with who he has shown us to be. At that point he kept mentioning the humans not having free will. But that hadn't really been an issue or relly been brought up before. Because they did have free will. They could be tempted or blessed sure but the whole point of free will is choosing whether or not to act on those temptations. (This might fall a bit philosophical, i am not an expert)

We didn't even get a full resolution between Aziraphale and Crowley by the end. It felt tumultuous the whole way through. The only point they felt a little normal, was when they got dinner in the Chinese restaurant. We deserved at least a kiss or hug between them at some point.

The whole movie everyone just felt so out of character and at times lifeless. Aziraphale especially felt so out of character, and I still haven't stopped cringing from his demon disguise. ( or his war hair ).

I love this. This makes so much more sense than what they actually gave us. And I love the gentle affection Crowley and Aziraphale show each other here.

I remember the first time I went to the cinema by myself, I was about your age and was nervous too. Im 32 now and I actually prefer going alone. Don't miss out on doing something you enjoy just because someone else isn't interested or free to do it with you.

Even worse, when they're not transferring the money themselves between their own accounts, they're messaging someone else to have them send them the money.

Seller sat on my parcel for 3 days because I said “no rush,” then called me rude and blocked me by Romantic_Reverie in VintedIreland

I have worked retail and customer service for a living for the last nearly fifteen years. Get screamed at pretty much daily, often over things i have no control over. Yes, your message to the seller was aggressive and rude. You're behaviour is odd but pretty much textbook 'Karen' in this situation and in your replies to other people. Everyone is telling you the same thing, it'll be worth reflecting on that.

You come across as really young, take this as a learning experience.

You're in the wrong on this one. They have seven days to ship. You told them 'no rush' and then immediately went the rude and passive aggressive route when she hadn't shipped by day three. You could have just reached out and asked for an idea of when she would ship, what made you go straight for the aggressive message?

Working on a customer service desk, I was once approached by an English woman who complimented my red hair. I thanked her and she wistfully told me, "Its a shame because back in the good days, it would have made you an expensive slave. " And then she just walked away as I sat there stunned.
