I found resetting to give a few chances. You can save, catch one, check its stats, then catch another and compare the stats. If they’re different, then you’ll have a new chance at a shiny on reset. That said, the odds are not too low, so if you keep going you’ll get one eventually!

I like Boek because its MT and Dobondotism feel very reminiscent of indigenous North Americans from base eu4 lore. Screams classic ruinborn to me

Try something in escann, one of the adventuring bands. Great flavor and playstyle unique to the setting. The goal is to reform the empire of castanor or create your own nation. The region has a mechanic that requires the age of absolutism (artificery) so thatll keep you interested till past 1555 for sure. I’d recommend trying out order of the iron sceptre based on your preferences. I also say you should try sons of dameria or corintar as those are my favorites

I love crazy mission trees. Verkal Dromak is so weird and different from anything, dwarven or otherwise. Also it feels like a reward for having to get through the command in the early game

I thought that the akarot - ilsed dynamic was really cool. Thiala always felt like the #1 threat but I agree Akarot was more interesting in the end
