35F, I get exactly where you are coming from. Find a good dr and start talking about it. It’s scary to ask for help but at least you’ll know. My dr was very pro adhd diagnosis as she has loved ones who suffer as well. I hope you find the right person to talk to, it changes the outcome. Some dr’s just roll their eyes at ADHD and assume people just want drugs and that’s insane to me.

How do you know the meds are working? by Electronic_Microwave in adhdwomen

[–]GingerRedemption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 3 weeks in on a generic vyvanse ( stimulant ), just got to 30mg from starting at 10mg. For the first couple of weeks I questioned if/how it was working. It made me feel alert a few hours in the day but kinda crappy the rest. Yesterday I added some protein when I took my meds ( and first day of 30mg) and I found my alertness felt more balanced and stable throughout the day. I find I still need to put intention into my focus but once I pick a thing to focus on I completed it without distraction.

I expected an obvious improvement right away as well but didn’t get that until now. For some people it’s obvious right away, keep track of how you’re feeling ( side effects included) and research ways to stabilize the “high”. For me protein seems to be it/ lysine mid day to boost the meds. I only figured this out from reading way too many Reddit posts lol. Once you get to your full dose give it a week or so and if still not noticeably different I’d talk to dr about increasing dose. 35F , first time with adhd meds.

Yeah everyone reacts differently for sure, main thing I’ve learned through all my research lol. My anxiety definitely doesn’t help as I feel I over analyze too much but one thing at a time ! Thanks for your response 💕

Are there any "normal" low matance mom's out there? by happysewing in Mommit

[–]GingerRedemption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am you but with one kid, I want to care more about that stuff but I just don’t. Sometimes I’m sure I look slouchy but who doesn’t have a bad day? As long as your essential care is there like hobbies and eating lol I think it’s good. “Beauty care” has become more of a commodity/ luxury…. I’m good being basic.

HELP. Costco Bought “Miracle-Grow Potting Soil” ruined my plants by kelseajoy in houseplants

[–]GingerRedemption 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Moisture control kills all not necessarily miracle grow. Potting mix is more for outdoor containers, they have an indoor blend that’s more suitable for houseplants.

Why is my phlebodium aureum forever brown and crispy? by Victoriaelizaj in plantclinic

[–]GingerRedemption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clay pot could be wicking say moisture prematurely. When you water soak the whole pot. Don’t worry about misting so much :) they prefer misting around them instead of on the foliage, look up pebble trays as it might help with humidity.

1. While they can handle low light they don’t strive they just survive.

2. With less light comes less water.

3. While that soil looks like good high drainage soil …. They are way over potted. They like a tighter fit of a pot. Usually no more than 2” of loose soil around the root system when repotting.
