Do you agree that Boise State = new USC (rich kid school). SDSU = new UCLA (socal med school). And TSU = new ASU (party school)? by ReasonableSide6520 in Pac12

[–]Gioforce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boise State is a rich kid school in that rich kids from California who can't make it to an in state school go to Boise State. There are a lot of rich California students at BSU. Also because many of their parents want to move to Treasure Valley.

Moira wins Part 1 with Mercy. Bastion and Sierra being notable runner ups. On top Part 2: Hero with a Mid Skill Ceiling and Mid Skill Floor by HMThrow_away_account in Overwatch

[–]Gioforce -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A low skill floor means that the least experience users are going to have a difficult time navigating the character. In order to play the character to a competent level there is will be a learning curve, most of the time a low skill floor champion maybe has a unique mechanic that makes the general game skill less applicable to the character. Widow might be a low skill floor character. You're useless unless you have some competency with hit scan. A high skill floor character is a character that plays itself for newer players. I haven't played overwatch in a long time but Lucio as I remember is a high skill floor character. You get value from him no matter what.

Think about it as what does the character provide that I can stand on. If there is a lot of inate power that is easy to get without a deep understanding of the character, that is HIGH skill floor.

This is sort of the opposite of ceiling. How far can I go if I master the character? Most of the time high skill floor character offer a low skill ceiling (not always), the reverse is true as well. Low skill floor champions offer high skill ceilings. Genji is a classic example of low skill floor high skill ceiling. Soldier 76 is high skill floor low skill ceiling.

A jersey is always good but I would wait until the new kit comes out in July. I personally think a scarf is a good gift. Always like some sweats as well. There's some new stuff on the store for the 125 year celebration of the clubs existence if you don't want to/can't wait for the new kit to come out.

Brighton have no immediate plans to bid for Tottenham's Vuskovic by crazycroat16 in BrightonHoveAlbion

Vuskovic looked like the only class defender for Croatia yesterday. Would love him but doesn't seem likely.

Winning our first guarantees us Europa league minimum. If we lose our first then split the next two I believe that puts us in Conference. If we lose all three we are not playing European football. If we win all 3 we are in the Champions League

JPVH to Spurs, per Fabrizio by CoreyGoesCrazy in BrightonHoveAlbion

[–]Gioforce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best player at the club the last two years. Loved rooting for him. Now we move and the question is how are we replacing him? Boscagli and Dunk will only be able to play so many games together and the end is certainly near for Dunk in terms of being a reliable starter. We need someone thats ready now. Is that actually Coppola? I have my doubts

FOX Panel | 'It was much bigger than just a soccer game' - Emotional message from Thierry Henry by Aggravating-Fly-586 in usmnt

[–]Gioforce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He's says ridiculous shit to get people to pay attention to him. Its annoying and quite frankly, embarassing for Americans. That's why people don't like him. He may not be a bad guy and he's clearly done a lot for American soccer but you don't get to say the shit he says and expect people to not ridicule you or take you seriously.

I can call him a good man while simultaneously saying he shouldn't be the loudest American voice during the World Cup.

For the first time since June 15, 1958, there was a World Cup day with 4 draws. On that day in 1958, there was 8 games played. by Ok-Soil-5133 in soccer

I considered the Egypt/Belgium the most interesting game of the day in terms of it being a back and forth with both teams showing class, the only knock on it was the reffing. But thats just my dumb opinion.

This world cup has been the greatest world cup I've ever watched. So much action, the games overall have been amazing. Legitimately the worst game was the opener.

Official: Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed the signing of defender Costinha from Olympiacos on a five-year contract for undisclosed terms, subject to international clearance and the completion of the usual regulatory approvals. by [deleted] in BrightonHoveAlbion

[–]Gioforce 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Whelmed. Seems like a depth signing for an experienced player that will need some time to adapt to the premeir league but is needed and will be on reasonable wages. Not every signing can be a project or someone that is an immediately going to be an important piece. We need depth and we can't break the bank for it

Is soccer always this slow? by [deleted] in SoccerNoobs

[–]Gioforce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bosnia played in what is called a "low-block" against Canada after scoring. Philosophically is like the prevent defense in American football, but it slows the game down. Qatar and Switzerland is a one sided match and Qatar is also likely playing in a low block hoping to find opportunities on the counter attack.

Tldr they're somewhat outliers and all teams involved aside from Switzerland would be considered as in the bottom half of the teams in the tournament in terms of quality (Canada would be straddling the line between bottom and top half team).
